Will The Madison Return for Season 2 on Paramount+?

The Madison has just concluded its inaugural season — but what about a second season?

Taylor Sheridan‘s popular series wrapped up on Saturday, March 21, after showcasing six episodes over a two-week span. The Madison chronicles the journey of the Clyburn family, who “move from New York City to the Madison River valley in southwest Montana for emotional healing following a tragedy that impacted the family deeply.”

Alongside Kurt Russell and Michelle Pfeiffer, the cast features Patrick J. Adams, Elle Chapman, Matthew Fox, Beau Garrett, Alaina Pollack, Amiah Miller as part of the Clyburn family. The supporting cast includes Ben Schnetzer, Kevin Zegers, Rebecca Spence, and Danielle Vasinova.

Russell, aged 74, has already confirmed that a second season has been filmed.

“I was involved in the second season of Monarch [Legacy of Monsters], the Apple TV series, and sadly, the timing coincided with the filming of Madison,” Russell shared with Entertainment Weekly back in January. “I said, ‘There’s just no way to do it,’ as I was already committed to this show.”

Both Sheridan and Pfeiffer, who serve as executive producers for the series, found a way to postpone filming Russell’s scenes from season 1.

“Michelle Pfeiffer and Taylor managed to collaborate with Paramount+ and suggested, ‘Why don’t we shoot two seasons instead of just one?’” Russell recollected. “‘Before we kick off the second season next year, we’ll begin with Kurt’s scenes instead. We genuinely want him as the lead. We’ll get his first season completed, and then dive into the second season.’ Thankfully, we accomplished that.”

Although there hasn’t been any formal announcement regarding season 2, Russell’s co-star Chapman mentioned on social media that production wrapped last month. Additionally, Russell confirmed that The Madison is set to have six episodes per season.

“I genuinely appreciate what The Madison represents. It’s an intelligent show,” he remarked while praising Sheridan as a “remarkably talented writer.”

“Taylor is exceptional, and Michelle [Pfeiffer] is outstanding; she truly shines in this series. When it comes to awards, I believe they’ll keep a close eye on Michelle,” he stated. “Everyone is talented, but it’s [Sheridan’s] writing that captivates.”

Russell added: “This show marks a significant shift for Taylor as it is oriented towards a female perspective. It’s beautifully written, and I really enjoyed the experience. It was a lot of fun.”
