3 Hidden Gem Netflix Shows I’m Excited to Catch (March 28-29)

For the fourth weekend of March 2026, Watch With Us is excited to explore some underrated Netflix shows that deserve more attention.

While the crowd tunes into Something Very Bad Is Going to Happen and Virgin River, we’ll be focusing on Netflix’s hidden-gem series.

We’re eager to showcase three fantastic shows on the platform that you might have forgotten about or never knew existed.

Our top recommendation is Godless, a gripping neo-Western miniseries featuring Jack O’Connell from Sinners.

Continue reading to discover all three of our excellent picks.

‘Godless’ (2017)

Set in New Mexico in 1884, the notorious outlaw Frank Griffin (Jeff Daniels) and his gang are on a revenge mission against a former member and protégé, Roy Goode (O’Connell), who betrayed them. Fleeing from those that wish him dead, Roy finds sanctuary in La Belle, NM, a mining town predominantly inhabited by women, with Alice Fletcher (Michelle Dockery) offering him refuge. As news spreads that Frank and his gang are targeting La Belle, the women unite to defend their home.

Godless uniquely transforms the male-centric Western genre by centering on a female ensemble. This captivating twist, combined with remarkable production design and cinematography, fully immerses viewers in its world. The fast-paced storyline and intricate plots are exhilarating, bolstered by standout performances from Daniels, Dockery, and Merritt Wever, making Godless essential viewing.

‘Mindhunter’ (2017-2019)

In the late 1970s, as criminal psychology and profiling were in their infancy, the FBI sought to understand serial killers’ minds to aid in solving cases. FBI agents Holden Ford (Jonathan Groff) and Bill Tench (Holt McCallany), alongside psychologist Wendy Carr (Anna Torv), form the Behavioral Science Unit at the FBI Academy in Quantico, Virginia. Season 1 focuses on their interviews with infamous serial killers like Edmund Kemper (Cameron Britton) and the BTK Killer (Sonny Valicenti), while Season 2 delves into Charles Manson (Damon Herriman).

Mindhunter has earned a legendary status among fans due to its tragically short run, despite critical acclaim and a fervent fanbase. Unfortunately, Netflix canceled the series after just two seasons. Nevertheless, the show—executive produced and partly directed by David Fincher—remains a standout in crime dramas, weaving exceptional storytelling with intense character exploration and a distinctive filmmaking style.

‘Bodyguard’ (2018)

David Budd (Richard Madden from Rocketman), a British Army veteran, now serves as a police sergeant in London tasked with protecting the Home Secretary and MP Julia Montague (Keeley Hawes)—a highly controversial figure often described as “sociopathic” by her peers. As he privately grapples with PTSD from his military service, David finds himself torn between his obligations and personal values.
