Miss Thailand Contestant Loses Teeth Live on Air
A contestant at the Miss Grand Thailand beauty pageant navigated an unexpected mishap with elegance.
Kamolwan Chanago, 18, found herself in an unforgettable viral moment when her dentures unexpectedly slipped out during the live broadcast on Wednesday, March 25, on the GrandTV YouTube channel.
Her genuine smile was revealed as the dental piece fell onto her tongue while she was delivering her speech in the preliminary judging round in Bangkok.
Realizing what had happened, she quickly turned and adjusted her teeth before confidently walking the stage in her dazzling evening gown, complemented by sheer panels and an extravagant fur shawl.
Fans took to social media to comment on the surprising incident. “Handled it like a champ 👏,” one user posted on the Mothership Instagram page, dedicated to news and entertainment. Another user remarked, “It’s funny, but she dealt with it like the queen she is.” A third chimed in, “Let this be a lesson for all young girls: no matter the challenge, stand tall and own it.”
Audience members were astonished but commended her for remaining unshaken. “She managed this better than most do on a bad hair day. Is this the most iconic pageant moment ever?” a spectator stated, according to the Associated Press.
A spokesperson for Miss Grand International commented on the incident in a statement to People on Friday, March 26, saying, “During her onstage introduction, Kamolwan Chanago experienced an unexpected minor incident where her veneer teeth became dislodged.”
“She handled the situation with professionalism and poise, and the event proceeded seamlessly,” the spokesperson added. “We take pride in her confidence and stage presence during the competition.”
The upcoming coronation ceremony is set for Saturday, March 28, at the MGI Hall. Whoever wins will represent Thailand at Miss Grand International 2026 in India this October.
