Eric Dane Featured in Euphoria Season 3 Trailer Following His Character’s Death

Eric Dane was featured in the recent Euphoria trailer over a month after the beloved actor’s passing.

Dane, who passed away at the age of 53 after a fight with ALS, appeared in the new Euphoria season 3 trailer released on Monday, March 30.

The late actor was seen conversing with Hunter Schafer‘s character, Jules Vaughn, in the clip. Jules asked him, “Remember me?” to which Dane, known for his role as Cal Jacobs in the acclaimed HBO series, responded, “How could I forget?”

For those unfamiliar, in season 1 of the HBO Max series, Cal and Jules had a complicated relationship that became tumultuous for various reasons — primarily due to her status as a minor and his role as an adult, compounded by the fact that his son, Nate Jacobs (Jacob Elordi), eventually discovered their non-consensual sex tape.)

Dane’s family announced his passing on February 19.

“With heavy hearts, we share that Eric Dane passed on Thursday afternoon after a brave battle with ALS,” the statement to Us Weekly read. “He spent his last days surrounded by his close friends, his loving wife, and their two beautiful daughters, Billie and Georgia, who were the center of his universe. Throughout his ALS journey, Eric became a vocal advocate for awareness and research, determined to create a positive impact for others facing similar challenges.”

The family’s message added, “He will always be deeply missed and lovingly remembered. Eric cherished his fans and is eternally grateful for the immense love and support he received. The family requests privacy as they navigate this unimaginable time.”

In the wake of news about the actor’s demise, various members of the Euphoria cast paid tribute through social media.

“Forever will love you ❤️,” wrote Sydney Sweeney, who portrays Cassie Howard in the series, alongside a post on her Instagram Story.

Nika King, who plays Leslie Bennett, also shared a heartfelt tribute.

“I recall one of our last table reads for @euphoria—your level of commitment was undeniable,” King, 47, reflected. “You were fully immersed. That kind of artistry pushed everyone else to dig a bit deeper. You didn’t need to share a scene with you to feel the seriousness with which you approached the responsibility of accurately telling the story.”

She continued, “There’s something truly special about being part of an ensemble where even those you don’t directly work with influence the energy you’re all creating together. That was the ripple effect you had. I wish I could have shared a scene with you, but I’m thankful we were part of the same world … the same incredible journey. You will be missed. Sending prayers to your family and all who loved you.”
