Candace Cameron Bure Shares Her Experience with Botox and Aging

Candace Cameron Bure is gearing up to celebrate her birthday!

The actress marked her 50th birthday on Monday, April 6, and ahead of this milestone, she spoke with Us about her experiences with Botox and aging in the limelight.

“I tried it once, and it was fantastic,” Bure shared exclusively with Us Weekly regarding her Botox experience. “I loved it, but I recently had a bit of laser treatment for the dark spots on my face, melasma. That was a little birthday gift to myself, and it’s an ongoing process because I’d really love to get rid of those dark spots!”

“That’s pretty much where it ends for me,” she continued. “Right now, I’m focused on doing what I can in the most natural way, while still wanting to feel my best. The dark spots have improved, and my skin texture feels amazing—I feel like my pores are nearly invisible at the moment. I’m thinking, ‘What is this? Where has this laser treatment been all my life?’”

Regarding Hollywood’s beauty standards and the pressures of aging publicly, Bure aims to keep a positive perspective.

“I don’t really feel pressured; I just want to age as gracefully as possible,” the Candace Cameron Bure podcast host noted. “Whether that means going completely natural or seeking help from a doctor or lasers, I’m not sure. I just take it day by day.”

“There are so many beautiful women,” she added. “Recently, I was watching the show The Madison, featuring Michelle Pfeiffer, and I can’t tell if she’s had any work done, but I see wrinkles, and she’s absolutely stunning. She’s gorgeous. I aspire to age like that because I can’t tell if she’s had anything done—it looks completely natural, and she is just beautiful. I also look at my mom, who has never had any procedures done in her entire life, and she’s truly lovely. So, I guess we’ll see where each day leads me.”

Bure does have one clear aspiration for the future: achieving her fitness goals.

“My aim is to maintain optimal health,” she expressed regarding her future plans. “Longevity is essential for me. I’ve been dedicated to fitness for quite some time, but I’ve really ramped it up in the last year and a half as I wanted to enter 50 feeling better than ever.”

“I’ve been very committed physically,” she said. “It’s not just about the training, but also understanding this new life stage with perimenopause and menopause. I’m so glad more people are writing books on this subject… there’s so much information available now. More women are sharing their experiences, and we’re finding the support we need to make this phase of life more enjoyable.”
