Moriah from Welcome to Plathville Reveals Her Natural Look in Public

Moriah Plath shares a heartfelt moment with her siblings on Welcome to Plathville as she removes her wig for the first time in public, reflecting on her emotional journey with alopecia.

“OK, everyone, no laughing. Or actually, everyone laugh,” Moriah, 23, says to her older brother Ethan Plath and younger sister Amber Plath in an exclusive preview from Us Weekly for the Tuesday, April 7 episode of the TLC show. “It helps sometimes when people laugh.”

Moriah then takes off her blonde wig, revealing her bald head before trying on a new style.

“You’re so beautiful,” the beauty supply store salesperson remarks, noting that Moriah shares the same adorable dimples as her siblings, who smile encouragingly as she explores new looks.

“I’ve never taken my wig off in public before,” Moriah confesses to the cameras. “It feels liberating to just be authentic.”

The reality star, who has openly discussed her alopecia journey since 2024, expresses that sharing her true self is a weight lifted off her shoulders.

“I’ve got nothing to hide. I can’t anymore,” Moriah shares.

As Moriah steps confidently into the spotlight, embracing her hair loss, both Ethan, 27, and Amber, 17, express their pride in their sister’s bravery.

“Moriah’s precious, and I think she’s beautiful, hair or not,” Ethan says in a confessional, reflecting on the challenges women face regarding their hair.

Amber shares with the cameras that Moriah is doing “really good these days” and her newfound confidence is evident.

“She’s regained her quirks, which is her personality,” Amber smiles. “It shows that self-worth isn’t tied to hair or superficial aspects; it stems from your heart, feeling loved and accepted.”

During a visit to the beauty store, Moriah beams as she tries on various wigs and experiments with different styles.

“Ethan hasn’t said anything negative, so it must be good,” the salesperson jokes, eliciting a giggle from Moriah. Ethan confirms, “It looks great,” which Moriah tells the store associate “means a lot.”

Moriah had previously opened up about her alopecia journey in a September 2024 episode of Welcome to Plathville, sharing that she lost all her hair at around age 3 or 4.

“It started falling out and didn’t return until I was 8,” she remembered. “In recent months, I’ve realized that heartbreak can trigger my alopecia. It feels like an external manifestation of my internal state.”

Following a breakup in 2023, she noted, “I definitely lost about half my hair” and contemplated shaving it all off.

In July 2025, Moriah took to Instagram to discuss her appearance after experiencing another loss of “all my hair, eyebrows, and eyelashes.”

“It was incredibly difficult and emotional, and I had to accept it. I shed quite a few tears but eventually told myself, it is what it is. I’ll make the most of it,” she explained.

Moriah admitted she was still learning how to style wigs and draw on her eyebrows. “So if I look a bit unusual or different now, that’s probably why 🙈 I’m trying to find humor when I can and allow myself to cry when necessary, just accepting it,” she added.

Welcome to Plathville airs on TLC Tuesdays at 10 p.m. ET.
