Ballerina Farm’s Hannah Neeleman Yet to Name Her Ninth Baby
Ballerina Farm’s Hannah Neeleman and her husband, Daniel Neeleman, are still on the hunt for the ideal name for their ninth child.
“So, I wanted to give you a quick update on baby names. I’m here with Daniel. We’ve had a few kids whose names were quite challenging to pick,” Hannah shared in an Instagram video on Monday, April 6. “George was tricky; we actually chose a different name for him initially and changed it a couple of months later because it just didn’t feel right. Then Martha was also a challenge. And now, this little one we just welcomed has been difficult to name.”
Hannah revealed that she had a soft spot for the name Beatrice, which they temporarily called their newborn. Daniel shared that he liked the names Greta Jean, Ida, and Holly, while Hannah mentioned her favorites included Ingrid, Bonnie, Sylvette, and Dani, as a tribute to her husband.
“I think part of our issue is that we have a fantastic list of names… maybe too good, which is making the decision hard. We’ve tested a few out. There are several factors at play here regarding naming this child. With this pregnancy, I didn’t discover the gender, so it felt like just a baby inside. However, I really had a strong feeling it was a boy, getting total boy vibes. I even thought about naming him a Jr., like Daniel Jr. But surprise—it turned out to be a girl.”
Hannah continued, “We did have a girl name in mind, but nothing specific. I think that complicates things when you’re not naming your baby in the womb; it makes it difficult post-birth because it’s like, ‘Are they that? Or are they not?’”
Daniel pointed out that their other eight children “all have their opinions” on the baby names, but the couple has told them, “This is not a democracy.” Hannah also shared that she and Daniel have been affectionately referring to their newborn by a name she “really” likes, which he revealed is Imogen.
“That’s our name update. We’ve been trying out a name for the past few days to see if it fits. If it sticks, we might announce it soon. If not, I don’t want to raise anyone’s expectations. We’re keeping it relaxed,” Hannah explained.
In her post, she wrote, “Just wanted to share a name update for our baby girl. Choosing names is not easy, but we’re getting closer. 🫠♥️💓❤️🔥.”
Hannah and Daniel revealed in March that they had welcomed their ninth child. “Just wanted to jump on here and say that last night we welcomed a new member to our family. Baby no. 9. [We are] so thrilled about this,” Hannah stated in a TikTok video at the time, while Daniel panned the camera to show the baby snuggled in his wife’s arms.
