Priya Jain Responds to Eric Dane’s Final Moments in Euphoria

Eric Dane‘s former girlfriend Priya Jain shared her thoughts on his scenes in Euphoria‘s third season, which were filmed shortly before the actor’s passing.

“I have been tuning in. It’s an incredible show and a fantastic season,” Jain, 28, who was in a relationship with Dane from 2024 to 2025, told TMZ on Monday, April 27.

Jain expressed her joy in seeing Dane return as Cal one last time, stating, “Eric is remarkable in everything he has ever done. It’s wonderful to witness his acting.”

The actress was also inquired about her opinion on Dane’s performances.

“He is so skilled, and I adore watching him as an actor,” she remarked. “Of course, I wish he were here to experience it himself.”

Dane joined HBO’s series as Cal Jacobs, father to Jacob Elordi‘s Nate Jacobs, when it debuted in 2019. He continued to portray the character in season 2, but concerns arose about everyone’s future on the show following production delays.

Prior to season 3’s production, Dane publicly announced his ALS diagnosis and discussed his potential return to filming.

“I have been diagnosed with ALS,” he stated in an April 2025 announcement. “I feel blessed to have my loving family with me as we navigate this new chapter. I am grateful I can still work and am keen to return to [the] set of Euphoria next week. I kindly ask for privacy for my family and me during this time.”

Dane also secured roles in Countdown, Kabul, and an episode of Brilliant Minds before his passing at age 53 in February.

“We are heartbroken upon hearing of Eric Dane’s passing,” read an HBO statement at that time. “He was immensely talented, and HBO was privileged to work with him on three seasons of Euphoria. Our thoughts are with his family during this trying period.”

Creator Sam Levinson issued his own statement, expressing, “I’m devastated by the loss of our dear friend Eric. Collaborating with him was a privilege. His friendship was a true gift. Eric’s family remains in our prayers. May his memory be a blessing.”

Levinson later discussed how they aimed to honor Dane — and their late co-star Angus Cloud — in the third season. (Cloud passed away in July 2025 due to an accidental overdose at age 25.)

“Some may wonder why there was such a lengthy gap between seasons 2 and 3. There were evident factors — the strikes, coordinating a schedule with our highly sought-after cast, but the primary reason was figuring out how to pay homage to those we lost,” Levinson shared during the premiere earlier this month.

He added: “When Angus passed, it was incredibly difficult. I cared for him deeply and fought hard to help him maintain sobriety. In 2023, he was one of 73,000 Americans who succumbed to a fentanyl overdose. I learned a great deal that year, but the most important lesson was that death imparts meaning to life. We cannot be arrogant about our existence; we must confront the truth that life itself is a marvel, a gift, a profound blessing.”

Euphoria airs on HBO Sundays at 9 p.m. ET.
