Celebrities Weigh In on Supporting Spencer Pratt for L.A. Mayor
Spencer Pratt is transitioning from reality TV to politics.
A year after a wildfire destroyed his family’s home in Pacific Palisades, California, Pratt declared his candidacy for mayor of Los Angeles.
“The system in Los Angeles isn’t just struggling; it’s inherently flawed,” Pratt stated at the “They Let Us Burn” rally on January 7, 2026. “It’s a framework designed to protect those in power and their allies, while the rest of us suffocate in toxic smoke and ash. Status quo is a death sentence for Los Angeles, and I refuse to wait for genuine change.”
He added, “This is more than a campaign; it’s a mission, and we’re going to reveal the system’s shortcomings.”
In April 2026, a UCLA Luskin poll indicated that current Mayor Karen Bass was ahead with 25 percent, while Pratt garnered 11 percent. The same poll revealed that 40 percent of voters were undecided as the June 2, 2026, primary approached.
As the campaign unfolds, Us Weekly is analyzing celebrity reactions to Pratt’s political aspirations. Discover who might support the Hills star and who stands against his political pursuits.
Meghan McCain
The former View panelist made a bold prediction regarding Pratt’s candidacy on social media while withholding her hypothetical vote choice.
“I’m telling you, this guy is going to win,” McCain, who resides outside California, posted via X on April 29, 2026, while showcasing one of Pratt’s campaign ads opposing Bass.
Yvette Nicole Brown
The Community actress voiced her worries about Pratt potentially gaining traction in the Los Angeles mayoral race.
“This nation is unserious and hasn’t learned a thing. 💔,” Brown expressed via Threads on April 24, 2026, seemingly referencing former President Donald Trump, another reality TV star turned politician.
Stephanie Pratt
Spencer’s sister stated she will not be supporting his mayoral bid.
“Spencer has done tremendous work for the Palisades. But LA doesn’t need another unqualified and inexperienced mayor,” Stephanie posted via X on February 14, 2026. “Voting for him equals voting for foolishness. He’s just trying to maintain fame and promote his memoir; don’t be deceived. Ideally, the Palisades should have its own mayor and police force. I would support him as mayor of the Palisades, but not LA with 4 million residents. I’d be impressed if a Republican could turn LA’s Democrats, to be honest.”
Joe Rogan
“Listen, man, I’m with you,” Rogan expressed to Pratt during the April 15, 2026, episode of his “Joe Rogan Experience” podcast.
Although the podcast host later clarified he lives in Texas, Rogan added, “If I lived in Los Angeles, without a doubt, I would vote for you.”
Kristin Cavallari
Even though she currently resides in Tennessee, Cavallari felt compelled to show her support for Pratt’s political endeavors.
“This is more The Hills, but coming off of Laguna [Beach], I had many people saying, ‘Discuss Spencer running for mayor.’ So let’s discuss it,” Cavallari mentioned during the April 21, 2026, episode of her “Let’s Be Honest” podcast. “I believe Spencer’s candidacy is brilliant. Everyone in politics — regardless of their stance — is corrupt.”
She continued, “To reach that level, you must play their game. It’s all a matter of agenda, and I think their aim is to keep us divided. That’s why I’m not buying into any of it.”
Patti Stanger
The Millionaire Matchmaker star has publicly backed Pratt on social media.
“Here we go, CA,” she tweeted via X on April 24, 2026, sharing an article that revealed Pratt’s fundraising success against Bass in the mayoral race. “It’s time to go red with @spencerpratt @SteveHiltonx; California is fed up with this corrupt woke nonsense!”
She reiterated her support for Pratt in a May 4, 2026, X post. “I know @spencerpratt personally and he’s not only a fantastic person but also a smart one! We have one choice in LA, or we’re in trouble! Spencer will lead us away from this mess!” she emphasized.
Johnny Bananas
The Challenge veteran publicly supported Pratt in a brief social media post.
“That’s my mayor 🤘,” he stated via X on April 30, 2026, while sharing a link to one of Pratt’s campaign ads.
Audrina Patridge
Pratt’s former Hills co-star expressed her support for him in his mayoral campaign.
“He’s very intelligent. He mastered reality TV. I understand politics is a different ballgame, but he seems quite knowledgeable about what he needs to do,” she told Us Weekly exclusively on May 1, 2026. “I’m genuinely excited. He impressed me.”
Though Patridge resides in Orange County, California, and cannot vote in the L.A. mayoral election, she wholeheartedly endorsed her former co-star.
“He truly impressed me. I tuned into some of his interviews, and initially, I wondered, ‘Is this for real? Is he joking?’ But he is serious, and I believe he would bring about significant changes to L.A. and follow through with his plans.”
Jonathan “FoodGod” Cheban
“From what I’m hearing, L.A. is getting a bit of its pulse back. There’s only one person who can save L.A.: Spencer Pratt,” FoodGod stated via Instagram on May 4, 2026. “Just because he’s a reality star doesn’t mean he can’t be a great mayor. Reality stars can become billionaires. They can be doctors. They are quite intelligent.”
The Kardashians star added, “If you want to save L.A., cast your vote for Spencer Pratt right away.”
Jax Taylor
“For me, this election isn’t about politics,” the Valley alum noted via X on May 6, 2026. “It’s about restoring safety to this city I inhabit and making it secure again for our children and community; right now, it’s quite unsafe for people living here. @spencerpratt.”
