JWoww Responds to Body Shamers Following Swimsuit Photo Release
Jenni “JWoww” Farley responded to body shamers after sharing her first swimsuit photo in five years.
“Naturally, I check my emails and get a Google alert that says, ‘JWoww: Deathly sick,’ or something similar just because I lose weight,” she mentioned in an Instagram video on Tuesday, June 9, while laughing. “I’m at a loss for words.”
“It seems a woman can never win,” she added. “Put on a few pounds? You’re labeled a fat piece of s***. Shed some weight? You must be terminally ill or something.”
The Jersey Shore star revealed that she had been “working out” and went from 150 pounds to 135. Besides increasing her gym sessions, JWoww disclosed that she had indeed been unwell following a trip to Miami in May.
“I lost weight. I’m a woman. I’m 41. Honestly, I’m not sure how else to explain it,” she continued. “I didn’t intend for this to happen, and it probably won’t stick, especially for a woman in her 40s. By the end of summer, I’m likely to gain 10 pounds and read another article saying, ‘You fat b****,’ or something similar, or ‘Is she pregnant?’ I sincerely hope I’m not dying, for goodness’ sake.”
JWoww emphasized that she didn’t “purposely lose weight.”
“I apologize for not being seen in shorts and a bathing suit for the past five years. I’ve avoided wearing them publicly due to judgment,” she said. “This is just a glimpse into what it’s like being a woman today.”
The MTV star urged people to “change the narrative” but acknowledged that women would still be “pitted against one another.”
“PSA because I am sick and dying 😭,” JWoww captioned her post, earning support from her friends in the comments.
“Keep shining 💕,” Sammi Sweetheart Giancola commented, while JWoww’s fiancé, Zack Clayton, jokingly added, “Donuts and tacos tonight for dinner.”
JWoww’s remarks followed the posting of a stunning swimsuit photo earlier this week, where she lounged on her side on a daybed, donning a sexy one-piece with high-cut legs, a cheeky back, and a plunging neckline, topped off with a black baseball cap.
