Producers Unveil Shocking Milo Ventimiglia Twist in “I Will Find You”

Harlan Coben’s I Will Find You is packed with unexpected twists, but the most shocking revelation involved Milo Ventimiglia.

After an entire season of suspense surrounding the identity of the kidnapper of David’s (Sam Worthington) son, it was ultimately revealed to be Hayden (Ventimiglia). Executive producers Robert Hull and Coben shared their insights on this deliberate choice.

“When you think of someone like Milo, you don’t typically imagine him taking on such a role and being third on the call sheet,” Hull told Us Weekly.

The writers expressed their appreciation for Ventimiglia’s flexibility. “Fortunately for Milo, he doesn’t mind. He just wants to embrace a great character,” Hull remarked. “And we were keen to draw on the emotional weight of This Is Us. Moreover, Milo himself is such a kind and remarkable person.”

Best-selling author Harlan Coben has contributed a wealth of content to Netflix’s original series catalog. This crime and thriller writer has penned 35 novels, with 12 adapted for film and television so far. Coben currently has a deal with Netflix to continue delivering engaging adaptations for the foreseeable future. With his latest show, Harlan Coben’s Lazarus, already in the works, he’s just getting started.

He further remarked: “That’s why audiences are drawn to him. Utilizing that to our advantage was a significant benefit and certainly intentional.”

Coben reiterated the deliberate nature of the decision: “Milo is not only a wonderful actor but also one of the nicest people you could meet. His presence brings to mind This Is Us, Gilmore Girls, and Heroes. His likability gave us a unique opportunity to leverage that effectively.”

I Will Find You, currently streaming, follows David Burroughs (Worthington), who is wrongfully convicted of his son’s murder but learns that his son might still be alive.

“The biggest challenge we faced turned out to be our greatest asset,” Hull reflected on the production process. “From the beginning, Harlan and I aimed to film in real environments. We opted not to construct elaborate sets.”

He continued: “We shot on authentic streets, did real stunts, and incorporated genuine wirework. Even with visual effects, there’s no substitute for showcasing an incredible actor in a realistic locale and letting them breathe life into the story. Once that’s in place, our work is mostly complete.”

I Will Find You is now streaming on Netflix.
