Which Stars from Every Year Aren’t Returning for Season 2?
Every Year After has officially been confirmed for a second season — now featuring a new cast — but will all the previous actors be making a return?
Adapted from Every Summer After by Carley Fortune, Every Year After centers on Percy (Sadie Soverall), who spent her childhood vacations in Barry’s Bay alongside the Florek brothers: Sam (Matt Cornett) and Charlie (Michael Bradway).
While the upcoming season will introduce fresh faces, Every Year After has also thrown in some significant twists from the book.
“I think it’s less about altering the narrative and more about expanding it. But you’re still getting the core essence of the book and the central romance. The themes and the tone remain intact,” Aurora Perrineau, who portrays Percy’s friend Chantal, shared exclusively with Us Weekly.

The book concluded each character’s arc more thoroughly, while the television series made Charlie the focal point for the next installment.
“I genuinely hope a second season comes to fruition. They’re not quite ready yet, and it makes sense since Sam is still processing recent events,” Fortune explained to Us of the finale. “I’m thrilled with how the show concludes, leaving a clear pathway to introduce One Golden Summer in the subsequent season, which excites me the most.”

Sadie Soverall
While Soverall is set to reprise her role as Percy, she won’t be the show’s central character anymore.
Matt Cornett
Similarly, Cornett will return as Sam but will not be featured as the primary character.
Michael Bradway
Bradway has been positioned as the lead of season 2 following Charlie’s dramatic heart attack. His story was initially developed further in Fortune’s subsequent novel, One Golden Summer.
