Sydney Sweeney Bares Legs in American Eagle’s 4th of July Ad
Sydney Sweeney returns in style with a new American Eagle advertisement.
The 28-year-old actress looked stunning in a full denim ensemble while posing on the beach for a 4th of July campaign that premiered on Wednesday, July 1. The Euphoria star donned a denim Bow-Front Vest priced at $54.95, featuring adjustable halter straps, a plunging neckline, and front tie straps.
She complemented the ensemble with low-rise Micro Shorts ($49.95), characterized by a dark wash and distressed detail.
Sweeney’s makeup highlighted her dewy complexion with sun-kissed cheeks, long lashes, and pink lip liner. Her blonde bob was styled in beachy waves, with a middle part.
In one shot, the It Girl radiated joy as she closed her eyes and smiled at the camera while sitting in the sand. In another, she looked back over her shoulder, hands tucked into the back pockets of her chic shorts.
Sweeney also sparkled in a promotional video, dancing on the beach while holding sparklers. A message on the screen read, “Syd for Short.”
This isn’t Sweeney’s first collaboration with American Eagle. In July 2025, she stirred controversy for modeling a denim jacket and jeans paired with the phrase, “Sydney Sweeney Has Great Jeans.”
The statement quickly prompted discussions about race and beauty standards due to the play on the word “genes.”

In response to the previous backlash, American Eagle issued a statement in August 2025 via Instagram, stating, “‘Sydney Sweeney Has Great Jeans’ is and always was about the jeans. Her jeans. Her story. We’ll continue to celebrate how everyone wears their AE jeans with confidence, their way. Great jeans look good on everyone.”
At the time, a source informed Us Weekly that “Sydney thinks this whole thing has been blown out of proportion.”
The insider added, “She’s focusing her energy on work, including being back on set with her Euphoria family.” (The Euphoria season 3 finale aired on May 31.)
