Karlie Kloss Shares if She’s Ever Met Donald Trump

Karlie Kloss is discussing her ties to the Trump family through her marriage to husband Joshua Kushner.

“Well, I know who I am,” the model, 33, mentioned in a Wednesday, July 1, interview with Bloomberg Originals. “I understand the values that direct my life and the issues that matter to me. So, I haven’t lost sight of who I am, but it’s also my husband’s family.”

Joshua, who married Kloss in 2018, is the younger brother of Jared Kushner, son-in-law and former senior advisor to President Donald Trump. (Jared, who now holds the position of Special Envoy for Peace in Trump’s second administration, has been married to Donald’s daughter Ivanka Trump since 2009.)

“I have never met President Trump,” Kloss shared.

Kloss elaborated that while she may not see eye to eye with her in-laws on political matters, they manage to come together amidst their differences.

“For as long as I can remember, I’ve been exposed to a variety of political viewpoints, and I think that has prepared me for my life. You know, I’m a Democrat,” she reflected. “I believe it’s possible to maintain relationships with those you don’t align with politically. This country has always been a space for dialogue. We need to be able to communicate with one another.”

Kloss also shared her experience of converting to Judaism for her husband.

“I fell in love with someone whose faith was a significant part of who he is,” she explained to the outlet. “And I recognized that from the beginning and chose to embrace that in my life. I’m truly proud of that decision.”

Since tying the knot, Kloss and Joshua have welcomed three children: sons Levi, 5, and Elijah, 3, along with daughter Rae, 9 months old. Kloss has expressed her gratitude for having Joshua by her side during major milestones in their lives.

“We’ve been together since I was 19. We’ve grown up side by side. He’s always been my biggest supporter, especially during this transition into motherhood,” she expressed fondly of Joshua during a May 2025 appearance on the “Aspire” podcast. “He’s someone who consistently tells me, ‘Karlie, you cannot lose yourself. You won’t be happy, and our children will sense that.’”

Kloss added that connecting with Joshua early on laid the groundwork for a strong relationship.

“Since we met so young, we’ve experienced so much together and have truly grown together,” she explained. “I think that’s part of why our partnership remains so resilient.”
