Kelly Clarkson Reveals Shocking Bathroom Story

Kelly Clarkson was candid with her audience about her feelings during a recent performance on stage.

“I don’t know what’s happening to me,” Clarkson, 44, shared with her fans during her Studio Sessions residency at Caesars Palace on Saturday, July 18. “I’m not sure if I caught that thing, you know, the condition where people eat lettuce or whatever. I was just like, ‘Oh, my God.’ And when I got back to my room, I was so relieved there wasn’t a man there.”

A fan-recorded moment, posted on Instagram two days later, showed Clarkson recalling her reaction, saying to the laughter of the crowd, “[A man] definitely wouldn’t want to get close to this again.”

Reflecting on her situation, the single star, who divorced Branddon Blackstock in 2020, humorously likened it to the memorable food poisoning scene in Bridesmaids. “Bridesmaids has nothing on what I experienced,” Clarkson stated. “I was like, ‘Oh, Lord.’ And you know that part where you think it’s done? Oh no, girl.”

She wrapped up her story by complimenting the bathrooms at the Vegas venue. “You know what’s great? They have warm toilets here,” the singer stated. “I’m going to be single forever, and that’s cool. I’ll find another quirky person out there.”

Clarkson is known for her openness, recently discussing her decision to end The Kelly Clarkson Show in May after its seventh season. “I’d probably get fired by NBC, but I don’t work there anymore,” she joked during her July 17 Studio Session while playfully touching a fan’s sequin jacket sleeve. “We are sad about it because it was such a fun show.”

In February, the “Since U Been Gone” star mentioned on the Today Show that fans would understand her choice to halt production, as she wanted to concentrate on her personal life post-Blackstock’s passing in August 2025. “I think everyone probably gets the timing,” she noted at that time. “Our family dynamic has changed a bit, and it has been different for a while now, so I think… it’s one of those moments when you start appreciating life’s preciousness.”

Clarkson and Blackstock had two children together: daughter River, born in 2014, and son Remy, born in 2016. (Blackstock’s death was reported on August 7 last year, and it later came to light that he had been quietly battling cancer. He was 48.)

On February 2, Clarkson informed fans she was stepping away from the show, feeling “extremely fortunate” for the experience. “Given all of that, this decision wasn’t easy, but this season will be my last hosting The Kelly Clarkson Show,” she stated to Us. “Stepping back from the daily grind will allow me to focus on my kids, which feels necessary and right for this next chapter of our lives.”
