Tori Spelling Steps Away from the Beverly Hills 90210 Rewatch Podcast
Tori Spelling has announced her departure from the Beverly Hills, 90210 rewatch podcast.
“Tori has not been involved in the podcast recently, but Jennie [Garth] is eager to carry on with the rewatch,” a source shared with Us. “She intends to take the show all the way to the finish, featuring special guests and cohosts from the series.”
The insider mentions that Spelling’s future on the podcast will be discussed in the episode airing on Friday, July 31, of the “9021OMG” podcast.
Us has reached out to iHeartRadio for further comments.
Spelling confirmed in an Instagram Live that she will step away from the “9021OMG” podcast due to other commitments, as reported by Entertainment Weekly. In the video, Spelling encouraged fans to keep tuning in to Garth’s recaps on the popular iHeartRadio show.
Spelling co-founded the rewatch podcast with Garth, her former 90210 co-star, in 2020, where they shared behind-the-scenes anecdotes and episode recaps from the cherished series.
“It’ll be exciting to start from the very beginning, the pilot episode,” Garth mentioned to Us prior to the first episode’s release. “We have about 10 years of episodes to cover, so it’ll take some time.”
Garth admitted that she remembers less than “90 percent” of the series, which aired for a decade from 1990 to 2000. On her side, Spelling expressed to Us her desire to reconnect with former cast members and guest stars during the podcast.
Spelling added, “We’ll share everything that went on behind the scenes too, which will be fun. While people saw us on camera, we were actually friends in real life off-screen. Merging those two worlds and letting [our fans] in will be great.”
Beverly Hills, 90210 followed the Walsh family as they adjusted from midwestern life to Beverly Hills. Over the course of the series, parents Jim (James Eckhouse) and Cindy (Carol Potter) and their teenage twins Brandon (Jason Priestley) and Brenda (Shannen Doherty) faced various challenges while interacting with Dylan McKay (Luke Perry), Kelly Taylor (Garth), Donna Martin (Spelling), David Silver (Brian Austin Green), Steve Sanders (Ian Ziering), and others.
The series saw a reboot in 2008 with a new cast and in 2019, several original cast members reunited for BH90210. However, Fox informed Us at that time that there would not be a second season for the show.
