Landman Star Discloses Significant Season 3 Filming Delay Due to Changes
Production for the third season of Taylor Sheridan’s Landman is set to commence shortly, although some delays have occurred.
James Jordan recently shared exclusive insights with Us during the Lioness premiere regarding his reunion with Sheridan on Landman. He remarked, “It’s going to be fantastic. Taylor is currently writing. Expect 10 episodes that are just as crazy, wonderful, funny, and wild as the first two seasons. Billy Bob and everyone else, we’re all eager to get back to work.”
The actor, playing the role of Dale, hinted at potential changes.
“I believe we’re welcoming back the same director, Stephen Kay, whom I truly admire. It’s going to be an exciting journey,” Jordan stated. “We’re set to start in September and will continue filming through the first quarter of next year.”
He added, “Then we should have it out… I can’t predict when, as that’s up to the decision-makers. But we are all genuinely excited to begin.”
Inspired by the “Boomtown” podcast, Landman joins Sheridan’s impressive portfolio of hits, which includes Yellowstone, Mayor of Kingstown, Tulsa King, Lawmen: Bass Reeves, and others. Premiering in 2024, the Paramount+ series introduced Billy Bob Thornton as a corporate fixer entangled with an oil magnate in a high-stakes West Texas drama.
Landman was anticipated to resume production in August. According to Jordan, the full cast is expected to return.
“No, I wouldn’t have any concerns [about my future on the show],” he added. “I don’t have all the details, but I’m not worried.”
Jordan expressed his excitement about the cast’s eagerness to dive into season 3, stating, “Everyone is really enthusiastic about returning. It will be an enjoyable time. We can’t wait to be back in the Fort Worth area to film season 3.”
Despite the hold-up, Jordan received a surprise from Sheridan.
“I’ve received the season 3 script. It arrived right here on my phone,” he revealed. “I will keep it under wraps. I took a quick glance, but I need to read the full script later; it promises to be fantastic.”
As a regular collaborator with Sheridan, Jordan is also looking forward to the release of season 3 of Lioness, debuting on Sunday, August 2.
“It’s hard to refuse the man. He’s my favorite writer in the business. I have deep admiration for him. He’s my mentor and my friend,” Jordan expressed to Us. “Taylor’s work ethic is unmatched. He never compromises. When someone approaches you saying, ‘I want to collaborate with you again,’ you feel compelled to deliver your best.”
Jordan expressed his excitement over continuing to work with Sheridan.
“You want to get it right. You want to tell the story the way he envisions. I love working with him,” he explained. “He’s truly an exceptional individual.”
Lioness returns to Paramount+ on Sunday, August 2.
