Taylor Swift Discusses Creating the Eras Tour Documentary in Exclusive Appearance

Taylor Swift is giving fans an exclusive look at the behind-the-scenes moments from the filming of The Eras Tour: The Final Show.

“I was truly amazed by how effortlessly Glenn [Weiss, the director] captured everything. The Eras Tour was such a cultural event due to numerous reasons,” Swift, 36, shared with the 2026 Emmys voters on Wednesday, August 19, in Los Angeles, according to Deadline. “A crucial aspect was that it served as a significant source of escapism for those who attended. Glenn and I discussed, ‘How can we maintain this experience?’”

Swift kicked off her record-breaking Eras Tour in March 2023, concluding in December 2024. One year after her last performance, Disney+ released footage from the final show along with a corresponding behind-the-scenes docuseries.

The Eras Tour: The Final Show, directed by Weiss, garnered five nominations at the 2026 Emmys, including Best Variety Special (Prerecorded), Best Directing for a Variety Special, Outstanding Picture Editing for Variety Programming, Outstanding Sound Mixing for a Variety Series or Special, and Outstanding Technical Direction and Camerawork for a special.

As the Eras Tour comes to a close, Taylor Swift is feeling nostalgic about bidding farewell to everyone who contributed to this memorable journey. Following a standing ovation for her rendition of “Champagne Problems” on Saturday, November 23, the 34-year-old pop sensation tried to express her gratitude to fans on behalf of herself and her band members.

Celebrating the accolades, Swift joined Weiss and sound designer John Ross at Ross House in Los Angeles on Wednesday to discuss the project and their initial goal of capturing the same excitement that was felt in the stadiums within the documentary.

“If you lose the sense of relaxation and freedom for the fans who were there, then a vital element of what makes this concert experience unique is lost,” the pop star, dressed in a floral sundress, reflected. “Glenn created an environment where the fans could truly be immersed in the moment due to the rehearsals he conducted with our dancers and me leading up to the final show.”

She humorously added, “If you enjoyed the choreography you witnessed from our dancers, you should have seen the footwork of our Steadicam operator.”

Taylor Swift’s month continues to get better with a 2026 Emmy nomination just days after her wedding to Travis Kelce in New York City. The Television Academy revealed on July 8 that Swift, 36, is nominated for Outstanding Variety Special (Pre-Recorded) for Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour — The Final Show.

Having won the Outstanding Creative Achievement In Interactive Media at the 2015 Emmys, Swift has been enjoying a relatively low-key summer, aside from her glamorous wedding to NFL star Travis Kelce. The couple exchanged vows on July 3 inside Madison Square Garden after dating for three years.

“It was an amazing offseason. Our wedding was the highlight of my life,” Kelce expressed during a Kansas City Chiefs press conference earlier this month. “I’m thankful to everyone who joined us to celebrate and have a good time. That’s about all I have to say about that night. It was an unforgettable evening filled with joy.”

Just weeks later, Kelce showcased his gold wedding ring at the team’s football game on August 15. That same day, Swift displayed her ring while attending a friend’s wedding in England.
