How I Met Your Mother became a cultural phenomenon during its nine-season tenure and continues to resonate with fans.
The series chronicled the love life of Ted Mosby (Josh Radnor) in a reverse timeline, ultimately revealing the moment he meets the mother of his children. Radnor was joined by Alyson Hannigan (Lily Aldrin), Jason Segel (Marshall Eriksen), Neil Patrick Harris (Barney Stinson), and Cobie Smulders (Robin Scherbatsky).
This sitcom aired on CBS from 2005 until 2014, with the beloved late Bob Saget providing narration as a future version of Ted Mosby.
“One of the remarkable aspects of How I Met Your Mother was its ability to constantly subvert your expectations,” Radnor shared in an interview with HuffPost Live in 2016. “It always managed to make you cry and was never what you expected.”
Shortly after the series wrapped, CBS announced plans for a spinoff titled How I Met Your Dad, featuring Bays, Thomas, and Emily Spivey. Although the original project was canceled, a reimagined version starring Hilary Duff premiered in January 2022. Unfortunately, How I Met Your Father was canceled after two seasons in 2023.
