North West Shares the Piercing She’s ‘Forbidden’ to Get
North West is experimenting with various styles and enjoying herself.
North, the 13-year-old daughter of Kim Kardashian and Kanye West, shared her thoughts about wearing faux facial piercing stickers while gracing the cover of Dazed.
“What I really want is blue hair and piercings,” she expressed in her interview published on Monday, August 24, revealing that her vibrant hair was influenced by the Japanese virtual pop sensation Hatsune Miku. “That’s basically my twin for real,” she added.
North added that her favorite aspect of Hatsune is “her blue twin tails, obviously.”
“That’s always the inspiration. Either blue hair or nothing! Maybe I’ll try black someday,” she remarked.
Currently, North sports a combination of both fake and real piercings. “They truly help you express your full self,” she noted regarding the accessories. However, one type of piercing she’s not yet allowed to have is a bridge piercing, which goes through the skin on the upper nose between the eyes.
“I really want to get my bridge pierced, but I can’t,” she confided.
Kim, 45, who was present during the photo shoot, previously defended her daughter’s bold fashion choices during a January episode of Khloé Kardashian’s podcast, “Khloé in Wonderland.”
“I’m not a judgmental person, so I try to ignore it,” she commented. “Northie has a lot of rules, but the one area where I let her express herself is her style. I admire her for that.”
She mentioned that North has worn a “fake septum ring” since she was in the first grade.
In November 2025, Kim shared a moment when North clapped back at critics during an episode of Complex’s “GOAT Talk” YouTube series.
“She and her friends enjoy dressing up, love creating looks, and since it’s Halloween season, they decided to apply fake tattoos to their faces and wear faux piercings while coloring their hair,” Kardashian explained. “They resembled an opium-inspired Powerpuff Girls … that was their aim.”
She further explained, “[North] remarked, ‘I don’t understand. It’s just a Halloween costume. Everything is fake.’ So, she took my phone to respond to a comment, saying, ‘This is such a non-issue.’ Then online, it spiraled into, ‘Kim defends North to the end on this look.’”
Kardashian humorously noted that North had a “great clapback.”
