Where Are They Now? The Cast of ‘How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days’
If you’ve never watched How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days, then you might be a bit out of touch, as it’s a defining romantic comedy featuring Kate Hudson and Matthew McConaughey.
The star of Almost Famous, Hudson plays the role of magazine columnist Andie Anderson in this film that debuted in February 2003. In a bid to help her recently dumped friend Michelle Rubin (Kathryn Hahn), Andie offers to write a piece titled “How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days,” focusing on the common behaviors that often lead men to end their relationships. Her target? The charismatic advertising executive Ben Barry (played by McConaughey), who just so happens to have made a wager with his colleagues that he could make any woman fall for him within the same 10-day timeframe.
The film, which also featured Annie Parisse, Thomas Lennon, and Bebe Neuwirth, rapidly became a box office success, raking in over $177 million.
In August 2026, Variety revealed that Paramount is planning a sequel, with Hudson on board as a producer. Stacey Sher is also set to produce the film. According to reports, the project is currently on the lookout for a screenwriter.
