Dolly Parton’s Loved Ones Honor Her at Nashville Cemetery with Flowers

Dolly Parton’s family and friends gathered at her gravesite in Nashville just three days following the singer’s passing.

Among those present were her closest relatives, including her nephew and head of security, Bryan Seaver, who were seen arriving at Woodlawn Memorial Park and Mausoleum in Nashville on Friday, August 28, as captured in photos sourced from Page Six.

Seaver is said to have coordinated with law enforcement and security personnel while welcoming attendees at the cemetery.

It is not known if the funeral service occurred.

The iconic musician passed away on August 25 after a brief and private struggle with a type of cancer that has not been disclosed.

“Global icon and humanitarian, Dolly Parton—beloved singer, songwriter, philanthropist, actress, playwright, and author—died peacefully today in Nashville, Tennessee,” read a statement from Parton’s spokesperson. “With a rhinestone life that radiated for the world, Dolly will forever remain an inspiration, not just through her timeless music and prolific songwriting, but through her wit, warmth, and kindness that made everyone feel like family.”

The statement went on, “Dolly Parton’s legacy embodies love, compassion, and resilience. Throughout her seven-decade career, she inspired countless generations of artists and fans through her music and steadfast dedication to making the world a better place. Her songs will continue to resonate with individuals of all ages, and her charitable efforts will leave a lasting legacy.”

Moreover, Parton’s spokesperson announced that a “small, private service will be held for immediate family, while fans and friends from around the globe are invited to pay tribute to Dolly” on social media and her website, as per the musician’s wishes. Instead of flowers, the family has requested that donations be made to Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library, a nonprofit organization that sends free, high-quality books to children from birth to age five, regardless of their family’s financial situation.

Following the news of Parton’s passing, an outpouring of tributes from fans, colleagues, and friends flooded the internet. Miley Cyrus, the goddaughter of Parton, shared an emotional homage to her beloved Aunt Dolly.

“The feeling of losing my Aunt Dolly is beyond what feels right to share. Our most sacred moments were private and will remain so behind the stage, beneath the glamour & between our hearts,” Cyrus, 33, posted on Instagram on August 25, alongside a nostalgic black-and-white photo of Parton. “What I KNOW is Dolly would want me to experience it, write a song about it, and then move forward and be strong. I have an angel at my side. I always have. One of our last conversations was about music and transformation. 🦋.”

Parton’s longtime friend Reba McEntire also expressed her heartfelt condolences following the country music legend’s death.

“Well, I just learned that my dear friend Dolly has moved on to the higher and greater side. Dolly, thank you for all the incredible things you did for us here on earth. Your love, your music, and your generous heart made such a difference. There will never be another like you,” McEntire, 71, wrote on Instagram at the time. “We will treasure every memory and every note you ever played and sang. Thank you, Lord, for Dolly. She’s going to have a ball in heaven, singing all her favorite songs with her family and friends who have gone before her.
