Ana Navarro Requests Compassion for Outdated Botox and Gray Roots
As the 30th season of The View draws near, cohost Ana Navarro is candidly acknowledging her lack of self-grooming recently.
“Hey everyone, The View kicks off on September 8, and here’s the dilemma: I haven’t done any self-grooming or self-care for nearly a month and a half. So, I’m asking for a bit of grace and time to get myself sorted out, like, perhaps give me a week after I go live on TV,” Navarro, 54, shared with followers in a Saturday, September 5, Instagram video, detailing her beauty to-do list.
“Look at this! This is gray hair that I haven’t managed to color. And these eyebrows? They resemble squirrel tails; I haven’t had them plucked or waxed in over a month. And these nails? There’s like … half an inch of growth I’ve neglected,” the political journalist and commentator humorously disclosed.
She went on to say, “Upper lip … Botox … lip filler … none of this has happened. This is how I’m going to appear on TV [on] September 8. Just giving you a heads-up.”
A caption accompanying the post further elaborated on Navarro’s list. “My feet are even worse. My Botox ran out about a month ago. I haven’t worn Spanx — heck, I’ve barely worn a bra — in almost two months,” she wrote. “I haven’t blow-dried my hair or worn makeup. I can’t even recall the last time I sported fake eyelashes, push-up bras, or hair extensions. I’ve been living in loose-fitting kaftans, haven’t stepped on a scale, and have been eating as if I’m doomed. Can’t remember the last instance I wore high-heels.”
The TV personality stressed that she’s requesting patience from her fans as the daytime talk show returns for a milestone season. “Give me some slack. What you see is what you get. Take a moment to enjoy the natural view,” she concluded.
Fans and celebrity friends, including fellow CNN journalist Don Lemon, expressed their support for Navarro’s honesty in the comments section of her video. “And still gorgeous. You’ve been living. Congratulations. By the way, I cut my own hair and nails this summer. Ate whatever I felt like, and the only makeup I’ve had on was when ladies kissed my cheeks. No more TV makeup for me,” Lemon, 60, commented. Another follower noted, “It’s called … being on HOLIDAY!!!!”
In other news regarding season 30, former host Rosie O’Donnell might make appearances throughout the series. O’Donnell, 64, mentioned on the Monday, August 3, episode of “The Tangle” podcast that ABC is “bringing back all the hosts.”
She added, “And you know, I take pride in that show, in what it has become and how it genuinely connects with people and politics. This was not the case when I first joined.”
However, her representative later clarified to Entertainment Weekly that a “formal ask” from the network has not yet been made to O’Donnell.
