She specifically commended Hartley, 48, for fostering such an enjoyable atmosphere on set, highlighting his dual role as both the star and executive producer.

“Justin is amazing. It’s such a lovely and welcoming set [because] Justin does a fantastic job of creating that vibe,” she mentioned. “I would absolutely love to return. Justin is a friend, and it’s great to work with friends; I really enjoy the show, so we’ll see what happens.”

While Roxburgh was introduced as Colter’s sister, Dory, and Ackles portrayed Colter’s brother, Russell, it remains uncertain if the Shaw siblings will have another chance to reunite. By the time production for season 2 was underway, Ackles, 46, secured a role in the upcoming Prime Video thriller series Countdown, and Roxburgh took the lead in NBC’s midseason drama The Hunting Party.

“[Melissa]’s show wraps [production] well before we do, so we may be able to bring her back in the later episodes of our show,” Hartley teased to TV Insider in October 2024.

Though she hopes to reunite with Hartley on-screen, Roxburgh’s current priority lies with The Hunting Party. The series, which launched in January, introduces audiences to a team of investigators who pursue and capture the deadliest criminals after their escape from a hidden prison not intended to be known.

“After Manifest, I was open to anything since that role was very specific. It was heavily sci-fi with numerous extraordinary events, so I thought, ‘Anything else would be different,’” Roxburgh shared with Us regarding her first role post-Manifest. “When this opportunity arose, I found it fascinating. I am genuinely interested in profiling and psychology. This character clearly embodies that, working full-time with intriguing and unique killers.”

Roxburgh plays Rebecca “Bex” Henderson, a former FBI agent brought onto the task force due to her exceptional profile and expertise in capturing the world’s most dangerous serial killers. She was thrilled to join the project as an avid fan of true crime.

“Who isn’t, right? I grew up watching Criminal Minds,” she joked. “It’s captivating to understand why people act the way they do, and to unravel their motivations. Who doesn’t enjoy a good serial killer story?”

While The Hunting Party is filled with surprising twists and turns, Roxburgh didn’t necessarily want to have all the answers in advance, stating, “I oscillate between curiosity and overwhelm. There are days when I’m inundated by the current events happening in the scripts and just trying to memorize my lines or comprehend the plot.”

She added, “On other days, I’m eager to be nosy with the showrunner because I want to know what unfolds next. As the series developed, I naturally grew more intrigued by the mystery.”
