Margot Robbie Raves About Leading Japanese Beauty Brand’s Foundation: ‘It Mimics Skin and Stays Put’

Margot Robbie is undeniably beautiful, but we can certainly replicate the makeup products she uses to achieve that radiant look.

The 34-year-old actress, known for her role in Barbie, has a selection of favorite foundations that she adores. We discovered an interview with British Vogue, where she revealed her most cherished skincare and makeup products.

Talking about her makeup routine, she mentioned: “For everyday wear, I use either Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturiser or Ellis Faas Skin Veil Foundation combined with some moisturiser. For events, I prefer Suqqu Foundation. It’s incredibly long-lasting, looks like skin, and doesn’t budge. I haven’t encountered another foundation that holds up like this without feeling heavy.”

While I haven’t used Ellis Faas products myself, I can vouch for the other two as being fantastic. Laura Mercier’s Tinted Moisturiser is a pleasure to apply and is favored by many celebrities.

Like Margot, I enjoy a heavier foundation for events (alright, my events might be a tad different from hers, but you get the point!), and the Suqqu Foundation is a standout choice for durability. It’s the kind of makeup that makes you feel flawless. At 40 years old, I find that this Japanese brand’s foundation blends perfectly without settling into fine lines or wrinkles, giving the skin a beautiful glow. Although it is pricey, you don’t need to use much of it. I also appreciate the jar packaging, even though many prefer bottles with pumps.

The price may reflect the fact that this foundation is enriched with 13 extracts sourced from Japan (think green tea and silk protein), which help keep the skin smooth and hydrated while providing seamless blendability and a radiant finish throughout the day.

Though Margot’s Vogue interview might be a bit dated, she’s also a big fan of Chanel makeup these days. Her makeup artist, the renowned Pati Dubroff, exclusively used Chanel beauty products on her during the Barbie press tour. Pati took to Instagram to share that this was her favorite look from all the events…

She remarked: “Brit Barbie. This might be my favorite makeup look from the entire tour. Margot Robbie is a dream to paint on.” One of her staple foundations was the Chanel Les Beiges Healthy Glow Foundation Hydration and Longwear in B30.

Another foundation I absolutely love. So, basically, what I want to convey is that Margot Robbie and I are quite similar, and we could totally swap makeup bags during a night out and be best friends.

With 23 buildable and versatile shades in rose beige, beige and yellow-beige undertones, you can find your perfect match for true second-skin coverage.

Designed for prolonged radiance, the formula offers three stages of wear: initially, the ‘Top Glow’ is fresh and sheer due to the reflection oils that provide a moisture-rich, translucent finish; next, the ‘Middle Glow’ appears as the reflection oils settle, with pearlescent pigments reflecting light for a radiant glow; finally, the ‘Base Glow’ emerges as your natural sebum interacts with the formula, enhancing transparency and creating a dewy, sunlit finish.
