Anna Faris Shares Insights on Her Conversations with Her ‘Religious’ Son, Jack

Anna Faris is sharing insights about her profound discussions with her “religious” son Jack, who is now 14, a child she shares with her ex-husband Chris Pratt.

“He’s incredibly stable, emotionally,” Faris, 49, mentioned during the August 20 episode of the “Dear Chelsea” podcast. “He doesn’t get easily shaken. He manages situations remarkably well.”

Faris highlighted her son’s “religious” nature, prompting host Chelsea Handler to inquire about Faris’ own beliefs.

“I didn’t have a religious upbringing,” Faris clarified. “He has asked me to embrace Jesus Christ … I told him I would do anything for him, including this, but it will require many lengthy conversations.”

Though Chris Pratt and Anna Faris are divorced, they are committed to demonstrating that a positive and healthy relationship after a breakup is achievable. The former couple was married from 2009 until 2018 and welcomed Jack in 2012. When they announced their separation in August 2017, they emphasized their…

The former star of Mom described her son as “impressive” and acknowledged that she has “attempted to challenge him” on various beliefs.

“I ask him, ‘Do you view being pro-life as a luxury? Is that somewhat of a privilege?’ He responded, ‘Maybe,’” she recounted. “I also question him about certain megachurch pastors who seem to exploit people. He acknowledges, ‘Oh, megachurch pastors can be quite problematic.’ So it’s a sign that we’re making progress.”

Faris added, “I’m grateful that he’s exploring religion critically, particularly in recognizing hypocrisy. I appreciate that we can engage in these meaningful conversations.”

Faris and Pratt, 47, married in 2009 and welcomed Jack in 2012, who was born nine weeks premature—an experience that deeply impacted Pratt’s faith.

“When my son Jack was fighting for his life, I found myself on my knees, pleading with God for a miracle,” he expressed in an essay published in December 2025. “I promised that if Jack survived, I would dedicate my life to sharing God’s message. This promise was heartfelt.”

After nearly a decade of marriage, Faris and Pratt declared their split in 2017, finalizing their divorce the following year.

Faris has since married cinematographer Michael Barrett, while Pratt is now with Katherine Schwarzenegger, whom he met at church. They share three children: Lyla, 6, Eloise, 4, and Ford, 21 months.

Recently, Schwarzenegger, 36, discussed the importance of faith within her family during an appearance on the “Tell Me I’m a Good Mom” podcast with Lo Bosworth.

“We incorporate faith into our daily lives and routines, making it a significant part of who [our kids] are as individuals,” she shared. “I hold many values dear, but the most important is teaching kindness, empathy, love, and understanding. My goal is to raise good people.”
