Ava Phillippe Shares Nostalgic Photo of Mom Reese Witherspoon for Her Birthday
Ava Phillippe is honoring her “amazing” mother, Reese Witherspoon, as she turns 49.
On Saturday, March 22, Phillippe, 25, took to Instagram Stories to share a nostalgic throwback image of her younger self snuggling with Witherspoon among vibrant autumn leaves. “Happy Happy Birthday to this amazing woman I’m so fortunate to call my mom,” she captioned the photo. “Love you endlessly.”
She also included a more recent snapshot of Witherspoon seemingly savoring an espresso martini on the beach.
Witherspoon has Ava and son Deacon, 21, with her ex-husband Ryan Phillippe, from whom she filed for divorce in 2006 after seven years of marriage. She also has son Tennessee, 12, with her ex-husband Jim Toth, with whom she parted ways in March 2023 after nearly 12 years together.
Witherspoon shares a special connection with her children and recently walked the red carpet alongside son Deacon at the 2024 Blink Twice premiere, supporting their friend and director, Zoë Kravitz. In January, Deacon also joined his well-known mother at the 2024 Golden Globes.
In the same month, Ava and Witherspoon attended the Fendi show during Paris Haute Couture Week, sporting matching accessories for the occasion.
“January in Paris 🍷❄️🖼️,” Witherspoon shared on Instagram, posting photos from their Parisian adventure.
Many of Witherspoon’s celebrity friends also extended their birthday wishes. Jennifer Garner shared a photo of the duo on Instagram Stories, writing, “Happy birthday to my favorite, most supportive boss lady friend.” Similarly, Octavia Spencer posted a birthday message for Witherspoon, stating, “Happiest of happy birthdays to you @reesewitherspoon!”
Kerry Washington expressed her birthday greetings, posting a photo with Witherspoon and writing, “Happy Birthday QUEEN @reesewitherspoon!!!!! You’re a powerhouse and a wonderful friend I don’t know what I’d do without ❤️love you sooooooo much RW! Xo KW.”
Witherspoon shared many of the birthday messages on her Instagram Stories, replying to her loved ones and friends who took the time to celebrate her special day.
“You’re the best sister and co-anchor ever,” she replied to her Morning Show co-star Jennifer Aniston, who had referred to Witherspoon as a “source of Vitamin D” in her birthday post on Instagram Stories.
