Dave Coulier Shares Memories of Bob Saget Appearing in His Dreams

Even in the most unexpected moments, Bob Saget has a knack for making his “Full House” co-star Dave Coulier laugh.

Saget passed away in 2022 at the age of 65 due to head trauma. However, Coulier shares that his late friend continues to visit him in dreams.

“I miss Bob dearly. He was truly like a brother to me. I first met Bob when I was just 18,” Coulier told Parade.

“And yes, he does come to me in my dreams, always doing something ridiculous and silly that makes me laugh.”

At 65, Coulier has faced his own health challenges recently, sharing on TODAY in November 2024 that he had been diagnosed with Stage 3 non-Hodgkin lymphoma. He confirmed to TODAY.com earlier this week that he is now cancer-free. Coulier believes Saget would have shown deep concern for him during his illness.

“He would have called every day, asking: ‘How are you doing? What’s the prognosis, Dave? Tell me what’s happening.’ He would have driven me nuts,” Coulier said. “But it was a lovable kind of crazy. I think of him often; during moments of clarity, I find myself wanting to call Bob, only to realize I can’t.”

Coulier and Saget shared the screen for eight seasons on “Full House” from 1987 to 1995, later reprising their roles as Joey and Danny, respectively, on the Netflix series “Fuller House,” which aired for five seasons from 2016 to 2020.

The “Full House” cast was deeply affected by Saget’s passing, and on the first anniversary of his death, Coulier honored him and their long-standing friendship that began in their comedic youth.

“Bob had this incredible ability to bring out the child in me. I met him when I was an unknown, 18-year-old standup comic performing at a small club in Detroit,” he posted on Instagram, alongside a photo of them on the steps of the Tanner family’s home from “Full House.” “We instantly became brothers.

“Sometimes, I find myself reaching for my phone to share one of the countless silly routines we created together. Throughout the day, I’ll think about how much I miss him and shed a few tears. Then, I’ll hear Bob’s voice, and it will make me laugh. Cherish the gifts of life while they’re with you. Let those you care about know that you love them … and hug them like Bob Saget would.”
