Could Emma Roberts’ Aquamarine-Inspired Outfits Hold a Hidden Significance?
Emma Roberts is fully embracing blue outfits this spring, and it seems her fashion choices may have a deeper significance.
At 34, Roberts showcased her vacation style in a teal dress on Instagram as she basked in the sun on a tropical retreat. In the photo, she donned a Lucie Midi Dress from Rixo ($460), featuring a plunging neckline adorned with white lace accents. The dress was complemented by thick straps embellished with pastel pink bows, as well as floral details on her chest and the hem of her flowing skirt.
Styled by Brit and Kara Elkin, Roberts accessorized her outfit with her engagement ring from fiancé Cody John, gold stud earrings, and stylish rectangular sunglasses.
The actress flaunted her vibrant crimson hair, which she debuted last month, styled in beachy curls with a side part. For glamour, she sported a flawless makeup look, crafted by makeup artist Kelsey Deenihan Fisher, which included a glowing base, rosy cheeks, and brown eyeliner along her waterline.
In her Instagram caption, she wrote “Babyblue,” leading fans to draw parallels with her character Claire Brown from the 2006 film Aquamarine.
“Aquamarine vibes,” commented one fan, while another echoed, “This is giving Claire.” A third fan gushed, “In the Aquamarine universe, queen it’s so beautiful 🩵🩵💙💙,” and a fourth remarked, “Aquamarine red-haired princess I loveeee.”
This isn’t the first time Roberts has channeled Aquamarine during her vacation — it certainly leaves Us hoping for a sequel.

On March 27, she showcased a silk Reformation dress ($348) as she basked in the golden sun. This mint dress was adorned with a soft collar and delicate embroidery.
“‘That this blue exists / makes my life a remarkable one / just to have seen it.’ – Bluets by Maggie Nelson 🩵,” Roberts included in her caption, referencing the author’s 2009 publication.
Roberts previously shared with The Cut that she would be keen for a sequel to Aquamarine in June 2023, noting, “People approach me all the time about it. I’m always saying, ‘How can we revive Wild Child or Aquamarine?’ I think about it all the time now that I’m producing.” She expressed, “An Aquamarine sequel would be my dream.”
Here’s hoping her co-stars, Sara Paxton (Aquamarine) and Hailey Rogers (JoJo), are on board as well!
