Chrissy Teigen Reveals Details About Her Bandaged Face Procedure

Chrissy Teigen has shared the reason behind her recent hospital stay, which left fans concerned after she appeared on an Instagram Live with a bandaged face.

On Friday, May 23, she took to her Instagram Story to explain her situation, showing herself in hospital with bandages and a noticeably swollen face.

“Hi friends! A lot of you were worried about my hospital pic, which is totally understandable since I didn’t provide any explanation, lol,” she wrote in her post.

She elaborated: “I had a hairline lowering procedure. I lost a lot from the front due to having babies, and it’s really thin up there. When you see it on a carpet, it’s ALWAYS extensions.”

In her post, Teigen zoomed in on her hairline to showcase a part of the procedure.

Teigen promised to provide more details about her experience later on.

“Anyhow, I’ll share more later if you’re interested in the journey because it truly is a journey,” she mentioned.

This clarification came just a day after the former Sports Illustrated model sparked confusion among fans with her bandaged appearance during the Instagram Live.

As the reason for her hospital visit was initially unclear, viewers expressed their concerns.

“Are you okay?” one follower asked, while another commented, “Surgery face, oh girl.”

Teigen has previously been open about her cosmetic procedures.

In 2021, she revealed on her Instagram Story that she had undergone “fat removal” surgery on her face.

“I did that Dr. Diamond buccal fat removal thing here,” Teigen pointed out on her Instagram Story, indicating her cheek. “And since I quit drinking, I’m really seeing the results, and I like it. Yeah, I did it, what?”

She captioned the video, “No shame in my Dr. Diamond game.”

In a March 2020 interview with Glamour UK, Teigen shared her reasons for getting breast augmentation surgery at around 20 years old.

“It was more for a swimsuit thing,” she explained to the outlet. “I thought, if I’m going to be posing, laid on my back, I want them to be perky!”

Teigen also noted how having children changed her perspective on her implants. (Teigen and her husband John Legend are parents to daughter Luna, 9, son Miles, 7, daughter Esti, 2, and son Wren, 1.)

“Then you have babies, and they fill up with milk and deflate, and now I am screwed,” she added.
