Is Dolores Catania Set to Join The Real Housewives of Rhode Island?
Dolores Catania might be on the verge of a new chapter in the Real Housewives realm.
With The Real Housewives of New Jersey currently on hiatus after a dramatic season 14, reports suggest that the 54-year-old Catania could join The Real Housewives of Rhode Island.
However, a source exclusively informed Us Weekly that nothing has been finalized regarding the longtime Bravo star.
“Dolores might make an appearance on The Real Housewives of Rhode Island, although not necessarily in a full-time or friend capacity,” the insider shared with Us. “She has genuine connections there, and the idea is for her to set a tone without being an official cast member.”
On May 7, Bravo unveiled their upcoming programming slate, featuring a blend of returning favorites and new entries. Alongside shows like The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, The Real Housewives of Orange County, The Real Housewives of Potomac, and The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City, the network also confirmed that The Real Housewives of Rhode Island is officially in development.
“Set against the scenic backdrop of the Ocean State, The Real Housewives franchise delves into a close-knit circle of Rhode Islanders with deep community ties and generational families,” the synopsis reveals. “With aspirational lifestyles, thriving businesses, and complex family dynamics, these long-standing friendships highlight that in a state this small, there’s no escaping your past or each other.”
Bravo has not yet disclosed the cast or a premiere date.
When asked about rumors suggesting the new Real Housewives installment could feature a cast member from another show, Andy Cohen remained tight-lipped.
“I think that notion has been a bit exaggerated,” he told People in an interview published on Thursday, May 22, while adding that he’s open to the possibility. “It’s really about who’s in Rhode Island.”
Regarding what Bravo fans can anticipate from the show once it launches, Cohen, 56, characterized it as “Italian with a capital I” and hinted that it would evoke “early Jersey vibes,” alluding to The Real Housewives of New Jersey.
Catania joined The Real Housewives of New Jersey as a full-time cast member in 2016, just before season 7. Since then, she has showcased her dedication to family and loyalty while attempting to remain impartial in the cast’s fiercest disputes.
Since the show went on pause in 2024, Catania has participated in The Traitors and has been guest co-hosting iHeartRadio’s “Two T’s in a Pod” podcast while Teddi Mellencamp undergoes cancer treatment.
