Cassie Went Out Just One Day Before Welcoming Baby Following Diddy Trial
A pregnant Cassie stepped out with her baby bump just a day before welcoming baby No. 3 with husband Alex Fine. The news of their expanding family broke on Wednesday, May 28, more than two weeks after Cassie testified against her ex-boyfriend, Sean “Diddy” Combs.
Photos obtained by Us Weekly showed Cassie — whose full name is Casandra Ventura — in a gray T-shirt while leaving her New York City home. Cassie appeared cheerful in the images, which were captured on Tuesday, May 27, as she carried a Christian Dior tote and a green drink.
She opted for a casual look, pairing the T-shirt with white pants, green sneakers, a black bucket hat, and sunglasses, with her baby bump prominently displayed.
The couple, who tied the knot in December 2018, are already parents to Frankie, 5, and Sunny, 4. Cassie announced her pregnancy in February of this year.
Cassie’s rare public appearance followed her four-day testimony in the ongoing trial against Diddy, 55, with whom she had an on-and-off relationship from 2007 to 2018. During her time on the stand, Cassie recounted the alleged years of physical abuse she endured while with the music mogul. (Diddy has pleaded not guilty and denied all accusations.)
Part of her testimony included details about the 2016 InterContinental Hotel surveillance video, which was presented to jurors. CNN had previously obtained and published edited footage from the Los Angeles hotel, showing Diddy pulling Cassie back into his hotel room as she attempted to leave.
Cassie claimed Diddy told her she “couldn’t” leave him and alleged that he threw a glass vase at her.
“There were violent arguments that would typically lead to some form of physical abuse,” Cassie stated in her May 13 testimony. “Dragging and other forms of that nature.”
She also described Diddy’s alleged “freak off” sex parties while on the stand. When queried about these events, Cassie claimed, “it basically entails hiring an escort and setting up this experience so that I could perform for Sean.”
According to her, Diddy would “actually direct us on what we were doing.” She added, “Eventually, it became a job for me, pretty much.”
Cassie filed a lawsuit against Diddy in November 2023, accusing him of sexual and physical abuse throughout their relationship. He strongly denied these accusations at that time, and the two settled out of court the following day. In court earlier this month, Cassie revealed that the settlement amounted to $20 million.
Diddy was arrested a year later, in September 2024, and charged with sex trafficking, racketeering conspiracy, and transportation for prostitution. He pleaded not guilty to all charges and has denied all allegations against him.
“We are disappointed with the decision to pursue what we believe is an unjust prosecution of Mr. Combs by the U.S. Attorney’s Office,” stated Diddy’s attorney Marc Agnifilo. “He is an imperfect person, but he is not a criminal. Notably, Mr. Combs has been completely cooperative with this investigation, having voluntarily relocated to New York last week in anticipation of these charges. Please reserve your judgment until all the facts are known. These are the actions of an innocent man with nothing to hide, and he looks forward to clearing his name in court.”
Since his arrest, Diddy has been held at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn. His four bail requests were denied by Judge Arun Subramanian.
