Which Ransom Canyon Stars Are Coming Back for Season 3, and Who Isn’t?

Netflix’s popular western series Ransom Canyon has yet to secure a renewal for its third season — but which cast members might return?

Inspired by Jodi Thomas‘ book series, Ransom Canyon brings us into a town filled with drama, romance, and aspirations. The inaugural season followed the stoic rancher Staten (Josh Duhamel) as he dealt with significant grief while navigating a deep connection with childhood friend Quinn (Minka Kelly), who also captivated the attention of Staten’s brother-in-law and adversary, Davis (Eoin Macken).

Additionally, newcomer Yancy (Jack Schumacher) concealed a mysterious past from Ellie (Marianly Tejada). Viewers also became invested in a love triangle involving high schoolers Lucas (Garrett Wareing), Lauren (Lizzy Greene), and Reid (Andrew Liner).

The second season escalated the drama with the introduction of a baby, a sibling love triangle, and numerous unexpected breakups. Showrunner April Blair hinted at exciting developments for season 3 in July 2026 — including possible cast changes.

“[Expect] definitely [some] new faces,” Blair exclusively shared. “I’m eager to delve deeper into Lucas and Kit’s parents. We’ve barely touched upon that.”

Blair aims to enrich Lucas’ (Wareing) narrative, stating, “I’d love to introduce someone new to shake things up for Lucas, allowing him a fresh romantic experience.”

Beyond the Russell family, Blair expressed a desire for more musical elements.

“Perhaps we’ll introduce another musical aspect to our story. In season 1, we featured Charley Crockett at Gracie’s. Season 2 had a significant event with Jordan Davis and Thomas Rhett during the festival,” she pointed out. “So, how can we incorporate music differently? It feels like a vital component.”

She elaborated: “Can we introduce a musician who also plays a character? Quinn is creating a musical hub. She’s got Gracie’s and is now in the process of reviving the old theater. What new dynamics will that bring to the town?”

Blair teased that the “possibilities are endless” for the upcoming season 3.
