Why Brooke Shields is Passing Down Jewelry Exclusively to Her Daughter
Brooke Shields is considering passing down her jewelry collection, but only one of her daughters will receive her treasured pieces.
In a cover story for Only Natural Diamonds published on Thursday, June 5, the 60-year-old actress discussed her jewelry collection and which daughter truly appreciates her pieces. Shields expressed her enthusiasm for the collection, which includes diamonds, pearls, and other jewels she’s collected over the years.
“My mom gifted me my first emerald-cut diamond,” Shields reminisced. “It’s very beautiful, and I had it set in a Verdura cuff.”
Shields commented, “I have a deep emotional connection to jewelry and diamonds. It may sound over-the-top, but ever since I was a child, we would always visit jewelry stores during travels — whether it was pearls in Asia or diamonds elsewhere.” She has already made her choice regarding who will inherit her jewelry.

“Just my younger daughter,” she joked, referring to Grier, 19, from her marriage to Chris Henchy.
“My older daughter has lost every piece I’ve ever given her,” Shields laughed, alluding to Rowan, 22. “I can’t go through that again,” she explained.
Shields further explained that Grier “comprehends the distinction between real and ‘real’” jewelry. “It’s not just about the gold or diamonds; she appreciates the history, craftsmanship, and the narratives behind these jewelry houses,” elaborated the Mother of the Bride star.
Shields shares this perspective on luxury jewelry, having held it since her youth. “There’s a feeling of empowerment in owning your own jewelry,” she stated. “My mom always told me, ‘Invest in your own diamond — don’t rely on a man to give you one.’”
