Royal Children George, Charlotte, and Louis at the 2025 Trooping the Colour

All eyes were on Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis during the 2025 Trooping the Colour ceremony.

George, 11, Charlotte, 10, and Louis, 7, attended the event on Saturday, June 14, alongside their parents, Prince William and Princess Kate Middleton. Arriving at Buckingham Palace via carriage with their mother, the three young royals joined their family on the balcony for the military flypast. Louis charmingly mimicked his grandfather King Charles III’s wave to the public, while his siblings stood quietly like their parents.

Louis and his older brother, George, matched in navy suits with red ties, while Charlotte and their mother, Kate, 43, wore coordinating teal dresses. William, 42, donned his traditional military uniform, similar to that of his father, Charles, and other royal relatives. The Wales family was joined by Charles’ wife, Queen Camilla, and the monarch’s siblings, Princess Anne and Prince Edward, along with their spouses, on the palace balcony.

The Trooping the Colour parade occurs each June to celebrate the monarch’s birthday, although Charles’ actual birthday is in November. In recent years, George, Charlotte, and Louis have frequently attended the event, having made their respective debuts on the Buckingham Palace balcony in 2015, 2016, and 2019. The trio had their first appearance in the horse-drawn carriages during Queen Elizabeth II’s Platinum Jubilee in 2022.

William and Kate’s children are gradually returning to the public eye after a noticeable absence during the Princess of Wales’ cancer treatment in 2024. Kate revealed in September that she completed her chemotherapy and announced in January that she is in remission.

During her recovery, Kate made a rare appearance at the Trooping the Colour in June 2024, with George, Charlotte, and Louis by her side. The children also attended Kate’s “Together at Christmas” carol service in December 2024 with William and joined other royals for their annual Christmas Day church service in Sandringham that same month.

However, William, Kate, and their children have opted for a lower profile in recent months, notably skipping the royals’ annual Easter church service at St George’s Chapel in Windsor in April, instead choosing a more private holiday with Kate’s family. Reportedly, the family attended church with Kate’s parents, Carole and Michael Middleton, in Sandringham, evading royal watchers.

A source exclusively told Us Weekly at the time that William and Kate’s absence from the Easter celebration was “a big deal,” noting that it felt “like a deliberate move and even a snub.”
