Jenna Bush Hager Shares That Her Breasts “Turned Green” Following a Sunburn
Jenna Bush Hager’s recent personal story is sure to get you reaching for the sunscreen.
On the Tuesday, June 17, episode of Today With Jenna and Friends, the host and her guest co-host, Leslie Bibb, chatted about the experience of sunbathing topless while on vacation.
“I once visited a topless beach — I may have mentioned this before, which is a bit embarrassing — in Spain during high school,” Bush Hager, 43, recounted. “But I’ll say this, if you get burned, it’s not a pretty sight.”
As her skin started to peel, the Today show star noticed that her breasts began to change in appearance.
“They might have turned green,” she recalled. “The opposite color on the wheel. That’s why my skin doesn’t resemble yours, unfortunately. It’s years of sun damage. It was quite gross.”
Bibb, visibly taken aback by the story, pressed for more details to confirm the claim.
“They turned green? Really? Oh, that can’t be good,” she responded. “Green? That’s nauseating.”
Though Bush Hager mentioned she regularly visits the dermatologist, Bibb empathized with those who might experience sunburns in unusual spots.
“I’m truly terrified of the sun, but my mother, Betty Bibb? She would sunbathe completely naked on our deck in Nelson County,” she shared. “I would walk outside and say, ‘Mama! Put on some clothes!’ She would lay out in the buff — both top and bottom.”
The conversation sparked after Gwyneth Paltrow posted a video on Instagram of herself cooking topless.
“This was a Tuscan-inspired high-protein #boyfriendbreakfast skillet featuring sausage from the local butcher, white beans, spinach, cherry tomatoes, and of course, eggs,” the Goop founder shared via Instagram on Saturday, June 14.
Followers quickly chimed in about her unique cooking ensemble, including Paltrow’s own daughter, Apple Martin, who playfully questioned, “Did I accidentally steal your shirt or….” While Jennifer Garner chimed in with, “Can I be your boyfriend?”
Earlier this week, Bush Hager sparked buzz when she unveiled her new bob haircut. With the help of celebrity stylist Chris McMillan — who crafted Jennifer Aniston’s iconic “Rachel” hairstyle on Friends and was also behind Leslie’s own bob — the morning show star showcased her look live on air.
“You’re such a badass; you look amazing,” Leslie remarked on Today. “I love it.”
