Savannah Chrisley Claims Todd and Julie Reached Their ‘Lowest Point’ Before Pardon
Savannah Chrisley reflected on her parents, Todd and Julie Chrisley, reaching an “all-time low” prior to receiving a presidential pardon from Donald Trump.
“I had just come to a point where I felt I’d done everything I could. There was nothing more I could accomplish,” Savannah, 27, shared on My View with Lara Trump on Saturday, June 28.
Todd, 56, and Julie, 52, were granted a pardon from President Trump in May after their 2022 conviction on 12 counts including tax evasion, bank and wire fraud, and conspiracy. Todd received a 12-year sentence while Julie got seven years. (Both have consistently asserted their innocence.)
During the family’s recent conversation, Savannah emphasized that the Chrisleys understood the “only way out” for her parents was Trump’s victory in last November’s presidential election.
“On a personal level, we watched the election together, and [my brother Grayson, 19] voted in the election for the first time,” Savannah recounted. “When we saw the president win, we both started crying, and he hugged me because we knew that was our only way out.”
Todd then added, “We owe a debt of gratitude to God… and God touched President Trump’s heart. God guided people to support us. I’m thankful because every night, I prayed to return home to my wife and children. And I did, so I’m grateful.”
The Chrisleys shared that Todd managed to thank President Trump through FaceTime shortly after his release.

“I told him, ‘Thank you for reuniting me with my family,’” Todd affirmed.
Julie shared with host Lara Trump – married to President Trump’s son, Eric Trump – her emotional reaction upon learning about her pardon.
“I called Savannah again, and she said, ‘He did it! He signed it!’ I started crying,” Julie recalled. “Then I hung up out of nerves. It was the wildest moment because most of the news you receive in prison is negative. So when they asked if I was alright, I said, ‘I am! I think I’m getting out of here!’”
Todd revealed that he initially didn’t believe the prison guard who informed him about the clemency granted by the president.
The Chrisley Knows Best star recounted a moment upon entering her dorm where a corrections officer checked on her. “He asked if I was good, and I replied, ‘As good as I can be!’ He told me, ‘Todd, you just got pardoned. They sent me down to check on you,’ and I said, ‘Well, if I’m pardoned, they shouldn’t worry about me. I’m doing great!’”
In another part of the conversation, Todd acknowledged that their post-prison experience was unlike that of most inmates.
“We stepped out of prison and straight into a home, began filming right away, ordered new cars, and started house hunting,” Todd explained.
He continued, “But many men and women don’t have that. When they are released, they often lack a place to return to and funds for food.”
In May, it was announced that the Chrisleys had started a new Lifetime docu-drama series focusing on their lives post-prison. (The Untitled Chrisleys Project does not yet have an official release date from Lifetime.)
“The Chrisleys don’t know best anymore,” Lifetime teased. “But they are doing their utmost to support each other.”
