When Does ‘The Amazing Race’ Season 38 Premiere?
CBS revealed in July 2025 that The Amazing Race 38 will debut on a special night and time — Thursday, September 25, at 9 p.m. ET. It will revert to its regular Wednesday time slot at 9:30 p.m. ET on October 1, following Survivor.
Who Is in the Cast of ‘The Amazing Race’ Season 38?
Keoghan affirmed the Big Brother crossover during a July 2025 discussion with Moonves, praising the reality stars for their competitive spirit.
“They’re clever. Julie, you’ve shaped some really savvy competitors,” he remarked. “They came in eager, self-assured, and slightly overconfident. I think they experienced some humility in the first leg. We have several former Big Brother champions, so they’re familiar with winning and competing. The competition was intense.”
While the precise cast hasn’t been disclosed, it’s known that some Big Brother houseguests will not participate in the race.
Janelle Pierzina, featured on Big Brother season 22, announced via X in February 2025 that she was approached to join but declined for financial reasons.
“I had to say no due to money. Reality TV has become an expensive pastime when the show doesn’t compensate. Good luck to all the teams participating. I’ll be cheering for you all!!!” she expressed at the time.
Big Brother 23’s Xavier Prather revealed that he and Big Brother 3’s Danielle Reyes also chose not to participate for similar reasons.
“@DaniHenReyes and I were in the mix as well, but chose not to for this exact reason. I can’t wait to see BB alums back on our screens crossing over to another CBS show!” he shared.
Where Was ‘The Amazing Race’ Season 38 Filmed?
The Amazing Race season 38 commenced filming in Hoorn, Netherlands, on March 17, 2025.
Keoghan confirmed the teams’ arrival in the Netherlands through a video shared on The Amazing Race’s Instagram page on March 18, 2025.
“I’m here waiting for the teams to arrive for the start of Season 38. Our contestants have just landed. They’ll be making their way over here. They’re out of the house and ready for this season of The Amazing Race,” he teased, hinting at the Big Brother participants.
Other filming locations are said to include Prague, Czech Republic; Dubrovnik, Croatia; Italy; and Bucharest, Romania. Filming reportedly wrapped up on April 9, 2025.
