Alix Earle Declares This Product Makes Her Hair ‘Softer Than Ever’
Alix Earle is posing the critical questions.
Earle, 24, shared her thoughts on TikTok on Sunday, December 22, asking her followers whether she should have been using Pantene shampoo and conditioner all along, despite the well-known claim that the product coats hair with wax and causes it to feel heavy or appear greasy.
“This might sound wild, but why is it that when I come home and use my expired Pantene shampoo and conditioner, my hair feels softer than it has ever felt?” she questioned, showcasing the shine and smoothness of her locks.
“I’m beginning to think I should switch back,” Earle went on. “I used to bleach my hair frequently, and it was this long,” she said, gesturing to her hips.
The influencer then shared a photo from her high school days, demonstrating how long and healthy her hair was back then.
“That’s not extensions; that’s somehow my real hair,” Earle exclaimed. “So is it a myth that [Pantene] is bad for [your hair] or what?”
“Seeing my hair that long and healthy makes me feel sick,” she remarked in the post. “I’d do anything to get it back.”
Her fans echoed her sentiments in the comments, praising the drugstore brand for maintaining their own hair health as well. “Expensive shampoos are a scam,” one follower stated.
Another added, “As a hairdresser, I don’t believe in costly hair products.”
More fans pointed out that Earle’s New Jersey tap water could be superior to the one in Miami, where she currently resides. “It’s the water. The water in Jersey is way better than the water in Miami,” commented one social media user. “My hair reacts the same way.”
According to Pantene’s website, the shampoo and conditioner do not coat or weigh down hair. “As a Pantene scientist, I’m frequently asked if Pantene is beneficial for hair,” the site states. “I have every confidence that it is. Based on numerous product test results and my own personal experience using Pantene, I know the products enhance hair’s manageability, softness, and strength. They are especially effective in repairing hair damaged by coloring, heat-styling, and daily wear and tear to ensure it looks and feels healthy.”
The scientist also added: “The formulations include pro-vitamin B5, strengthening lipids, and protective antioxidants that operate from within to enhance hair health.”
