Amanda Batula Opens Up About Feeling ‘Anxious’ Before Summer House Premiere
Kyle Cooke is known for declaring, “Summer should be fun,” but his wife, Amanda Batula, shared that the buildup to a new Summer House season often brings her anxiety instead.
“This period between the teaser and the premiere tends to elevate my anxiety the most,” Amanda, 33, confided to Us Weekly on Thursday, December 19, during a promotion for Amazon’s Buy With Prime feature. “I start to think about everything that’s going to air.”
While Amanda recognizes that it’s thrilling for fans to catch a sneak peek of the season, the release of the official trailer particularly stirs her emotions. “I’m grateful it falls during the holidays, giving us plenty of distractions,” she admitted.
She further expressed, “Even though it was a fantastic summer, there’s always that dread of, ‘What on earth did we do?’”
The trailer for Summer House Season 9 was unveiled on Wednesday, December 18. In the footage, a pregnant Lindsay Hubbard confronted ex-fiancé Carl Radke, accusing him of infidelity during their engagement. (Lindsay, 38, recently welcomed her first child with her new partner.)
Paige DeSorbo was seen in tears over a potential split from boyfriend Craig Conover, while Ciara Miller, one of her close friends, claimed Craig, 35, emanates “hater energy.”
Although Amanda remained relatively uninvolved in the tension, her husband, 42, found himself in a confrontation with her close friend Paige, 32. “The only reason I came here tonight was for someone to keep his wife company while he pretended to be Diplo,” Paige remarked about Kyle in the trailer.
Even though it seems like he might be in hot water with Paige, Amanda told Us that Kyle “isn’t anxious” about the show prior to its airing.
“It feels like ages ago, even though it was just last summer,” Kyle revealed to Us. “You know, what were you doing every hour of your July 4th weekend?”
On the other hand, Amanda admitted that it’s “difficult” to wait and see what ended up being aired. “It’s thrilling to watch but also daunting to think, ‘Oh my God, what’s going to be shown?’”
She teased, “Do you recall everything you said or did after a few drinks? It can get a bit fuzzy.”
Watching the events air on TV becomes “strange” for Amanda since a lot has “happened” since filming concluded. “You relive it with the knowledge you have now, giving you a different perspective than you had at that moment.”
One aspect Amanda never worries about each season is ensuring her attire and vacation items arrive directly in the Hamptons, thanks to Amazon’s Buy With Prime feature.
“You should see the stacks of boxes on our porch! We’re always utilizing Buy With Prime [and] Amazon Prime,” Amanda explained. “It’s incredibly convenient. For any last-minute items we forget, it’s so easy to have them shipped to the house.”
She noted that “100 percent” of Kyle’s costumes and “98 percent” of her wardrobe this past summer were sourced from Prime.
“I think Ciara orders most of her items to the Hamptons instead of her apartment,” Amanda said. “So she has so many personal boxes arriving there.”
Amanda mentioned that due to the longer shipping times to the Hamptons, she has relied on Buy With Prime to provide “your favorite stores instead of the usual five to seven days for shipping.”
Season 9 of Summer House is set to premiere on Bravo on Wednesday, February 12, at 9 p.m. ET.
