Bachelor’s Sydney Warner Declares ‘Mom Life Is Warrior Life’ While Battling the Flu
The Bachelor alumna Sydney Warner has discovered that flu season takes on a whole new significance since becoming a mother.
“Mom life is warrior life, something I’ve come to realize this week,” Warner, 29, shared on her Instagram Stories on Saturday, March 22. “I now understand that I embody the universal definition of Mom, which means that when I am unwell, everything goes haywire.”
Sydney, married to San Francisco 49ers linebacker Fred Warner, welcomed her son Beau in March 2024. She also mentioned in a previous social media post that she had been “feeling unwell” since Tuesday, March 18, grappling with influenza.
Even though she stocked up on fluids and attempted to rest, Sydney still had to care for her 12-month-old son.
“There’s no such thing as ‘Mom, can you please cook something warm?’ because I am Mom. I have to make the warm chicken noodle soup,” Sydney humorously reflected in her Saturday thoughts. “Also, there’s no such thing as ‘I’ll just sleep in until I’m better.’ At 7 a.m., the house is awake, and so am I!”
Sydney noted that she and Fred, 28, “still” needed to finalize their dinner plans for the evening.
“Dinner still has to be sorted out, even though the thought of food right now makes my stomach churn,” she confessed. “Beau still demands 3,455 hours of playtime and stimulation. While I’m in the bathroom 🤮, my son is scratching at the door to get in.”
She continued, “So, yeah, moms actually cannot get sick; it’s just not a possibility! Got it!”
Fortunately, Sydney doesn’t have to tackle parenting duties solo as she has Fred by her side.
“You find your footing. It took me some time to discover my niche and feel comfortable as a wife and now as a mother,” Sydney exclusively told Us Weekly in December 2024. “Now, I’m Fred’s partner, and we’re a team. That’s an amazing thing to say.”
Being able to be a teammate with him while finding my own footing has been a journey. I think it’s all about timing, and everything has fallen into place.”
Sydney and Fred, who tied the knot in 2022, have also built a supportive community among other 49ers players and their families.
“It was much different at the start, but now there’s this vast network of working women,” Sydney remarked to Us. “The women are increasingly in the spotlight, which is such a refreshing change to witness. It’s really wonderful to see how things evolve. Being part of such an amazing community and organization like the Niners has been a blessing. We’re grateful to be here.”
