Billy Ray Cyrus Reveals Text From Noah Cyrus: ‘We Made History’

On Friday, March 21, musician Billy Ray Cyrus took to Instagram to showcase text exchanges between him and his youngest daughter, Noah Cyrus.

The messages praised each other as they celebrated the release of their new tracks.

Noah shared a picture of a billboard in New York City that highlighted her new single, “Don’t Put It All on Me,” featuring Fleet Foxes.

She then commended Billy Ray, 63, for his own single with Ben Burgess and Brandon Manley, titled “Ask.”

“I’ve been told we made history again in music today as a father and daughter release their music on the same day,” Billy Ray further stated. “I enjoy carving new paths that haven’t been taken. That’s the thrill, you see?”

Carl Perkins taught me that,” he remarked, referring to the iconic rock ‘n’ roll pioneer. “He blended genres like nobody else. How about those blue suede shoes?”

However, Noah and Billy Ray aren’t the only members of the Cyrus family making waves in music.

As Us Weekly reported, Billy Ray’s son, Braison Cyrus, Noah’s 30-year-old brother, penned “Don’t Put It All on Me.” Braison is also producing their father’s upcoming album, which Billy Ray announced in January.

“This is art imitating life, imitating art,” Billy Ray said in a statement shared with People. “It all begins and ends with creativity. Braison is incredibly talented, and [2025] is going to be his year. I’m thrilled to play a part in it. This album is going to be exceptional. I’m preparing for what will be an unforgettable journey.”

Described as a fusion of Noah’s “country and pop roots,” the 25-year-old stated she’s “always been the observer in our family, and Braison wrote about how I tend to bear that weight on my shoulders.”

She expressed her hopes that those who listen to her music will experience “a comforting, peaceful nostalgia.”

“That’s the sensation I heavily feel when I listen to music. We all desire to connect with our past while being aware of the present. Music does that for me, and this new collection was crafted with that thought,” Noah stated. “I aim to evoke a sense of a comforting companion that a song can be — allowing us to all heal.”

The release follows several reports suggesting that the Cyrus family, which also includes Billy Ray’s ex-wife Tish Cyrus, daughters Brandi Cyrus and Miley Cyrus, and son Trace Cyrus, has been embroiled in conflict.
