Blake Lively’s Most Iconic Met Gala Outfits Over the Years
Over the years, Blake Lively has consistently dazzled on the Met Gala red carpet, regardless of the theme.
Lively made her debut at the prestigious fundraiser at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City in 2008. For the Costume Institute’s “Superheroes: Fashion And Fantasy” theme, she turned heads in a stunning strapless black gown by Ralph Lauren.
While many of the A Simple Favor actress’s outfits have been remarkable, her 2018 Versace look truly captivated at the “Heavenly Bodies: Fashion & The Catholic Imagination” event.
“This year’s might be my favorite dress ever,” Lively shared with Vogue in March 2018. “They’ve already spent 600 hours on it, and it’s still not finished.”
On Fashion’s Biggest Night, she made a memorable entrance, arriving via a party bus.
Her Versace gown, adorned with thousands of jewels on the bodice, also paid homage to her family. Lively carried a small clutch featuring the initials “B,” “R,” “J,” and “I,” representing her family: Blake, her husband Ryan Reynolds, and their daughters James and Inez. (The couple later welcomed a daughter named Betty in October 2019, followed by another child in January 2024.)
After several years of attending the gala, the Gossip Girl alum was invited to co-chair the 2022 event alongside Lin-Manuel Miranda and Regina King, and her husband, Ryan Reynolds. The May 2022 theme, “In America: A Lexicon of Fashion,” aimed to celebrate the finest in American fashion history, with a dress code described as “gilded glamour.”
