Carrie Underwood Shows Off Her Natural Hair Color for the First Time in 30 Years
Carrie Underwood certainly caught Us off guard with her stunning hair transformation.
On Monday, August 4, Underwood, 42, shared her hair makeover on Instagram. In the picture, she showcased a beautiful transition to mousey brown locks with honey blonde highlights and delicate money pieces. She styled her previously platinum blonde hair in soft curls, parting it down the middle.
For her glam, the country star opted for a radiant look, featuring dewy skin, defined eyebrows, and a touch of sun-kissed blush. Her eye makeup was completed with shimmering eyeshadow applied to her lids and lower lash line, along with black eyeliner and mascara. She finished off her look with glossy lips.
“I haven’t seen my natural hair color since I was around 12 years old, so I thought it might be the right time to embrace it again,” Underwood commented on her post, tagging her hairstylist, Katelin Megert from Parlour 3 salon in Nashville. “Thanks, @hairbykatelin_ at @parlour3beauty for helping me return to my roots! #NewOldMe #Bronde.”
Friends and fans flocked to the comments to praise Underwood’s new look. “So pretty!!!!!” Candace Cameron Bure exclaimed, while Kristin Chenoweth added, “Love it!” Many fans expressed how much they adored this new color on the star.
Before switching to a darker hue, Underwood rocked long platinum blonde locks that flowed down to her waist.
While Underwood typically favors big, voluminous curls, she opted for a shoulder-length chop back in 2016, describing it as a “mom move” to Elle.
“It’s easier to manage, which was the whole idea,” Underwood explained. “I could spend half an hour blow-drying it to keep it super long or use that time to play with my son, which I’d definitely prefer.” (Underwood and her husband, Mike Fisher, have two sons, Isaiah, 9, and Jacob, 5.)
