Celebrities Who’ve Had a Little Too Much at the Golden Globes
The Golden Globes is among the rare awards ceremonies that offers food and drinks to the star-studded attendees throughout the broadcast. As a result, it’s not uncommon for celebrities to indulge a little too much on this momentous night.
In 2014, Cate Blanchett took home the Golden Globe for Best Actress in a Motion Picture, Drama, thanks to her performance in Blue Jasmine. “Well that crept up. I have a few vodkas under my belt and now here we are,” she remarked while approaching the podium.
A couple of weeks later, she shared with The Telegraph that she had indeed overindulged by the awards’ end. “Unfortunately, my category was announced quite late in the evening, so I was a couple of sheets to the wind,” the Australian actress stated. “Once your name is called, it’s a high like no other, so I can’t remember much. I hope I didn’t do anything too regrettable.”
It’s not solely the victors who face the challenge of maintaining composure. Chrissy Teigen found it difficult to control her emotions when her husband, John Legend, won the Golden Globe for Best Original Song at the 2015 ceremony, resulting in an unforgettable meme.
“Sorry I don’t practice my cry face okay,” she tweeted later that evening after the cameras captured her rather painful-looking cry face. “It’s been 5 minutes and I’m a meme.”
In February 2021, Teigen, who is now sober, confessed that she had been over-served. “Happy anniversary to this drunk dumbass lmao,” she wrote as a caption for an Instagram photo of the viral moment.
