The contestants of season 3 of The Traitors found themselves inches away from being discovered scheming multiple times.

In an exclusive interview with Us Weekly, contestant and Faithful member Chrishell Stause recounted several close encounters for the covert players on the show.

“There were two instances, honestly, where they were in that hidden little bar area,” Chrishell, 43, said, referring to the popular Peacock series. “There’s the moment that they did not air at the end of the [third] episode. But I distinctly remember another occasion. I was in that room thinking, ‘Wait, I heard the door click.’”

Chrishell experienced her own close call as well, sharing, “I remember trying to push the door open but it wouldn’t budge. I thought, ‘Either someone is holding it shut from the other side or it’s locked.’”

She added, “Honestly, there were numerous times where I suspect they narrowly escaped being caught. As you might notice — since I wasn’t in that room — there are other instances at the start of the episode that raise suspicions. I recall us mentioning, ‘I wasn’t there, but someone heard something.’”

Season 3, which debuted earlier this month, kicked off with Bob the Drag Queen, Danielle Reyes, and Carolyn Wiger as the Traitors. By the second episode, Rob “Boston Rob” Mariano joined the group, leading to Bob’s banishment after Rob turned against him.

However, Chrishell remained unaware of the ongoing drama as a Faithful member.

“Once you’ve established yourself as a Faithful — if you manage to do that — you then also have to work extra hard to divert suspicion from the possibility of being a Traitor. It’s a tough game since you have to carefully navigate and time your moves,” she explained. “It’s easy for me to say now, but I also wish I had been a bit more vocal when I sensed something suspicious.”

The star of Selling Sunset expressed regrets about not voicing her thoughts more often. “There were instances where I was spot-on about someone, and I brought it up to a few people,” she noted. “But evidently, either my concerns didn’t go anywhere. It’s frustrating when you know you’re right about someone and think, ‘I should have been more assertive.’”

In addition to Chrishell, season 3 features Wells Adams, Gabby Windey, Ciara Miller, Jeremy Collins, Carolyn, Tony Vlachos, Bob the Drag Queen, Britney Haynes, and Danielle. The rest of the ensemble included Bob Harper, Dylan Efron, Lord Ivar Mountbatten, Sam Asghari, and Nikki Bella, with later additions being Boston Rob, Wes Bergmann, and Derrick Levasseur.

Despite Chrishell’s experience in the reality TV scene, she encountered numerous surprises while filming The Traitors.

“The filming hours for The Traitors are incredibly long, and you get very little sleep. At least with Selling Sunset, you get to sit in a chair and enjoy glam time. But then, they delve into your personal life,” she joked. “Even without sleep and no phone on The Traitors, I still prefer someone targeting me rather than my actual family and friends. Selling Sunset is more stressful.”

Chrishell also shared unexpected behind-the-scenes insights about filming The Traitors, saying, “I would have loved to have glam in the castle, but [host] Alan Cumming doesn’t allow us any glam while there. We film from around 8 until he has to be prepared to leave. The latest I returned was around 2 in the morning.”

She added: “Then you have the challenges, and you need to quickly change. Honestly, I absolutely love the experience, and nobody wants to leave once they’re in it. In the game, I adore it, and anyone would be heartbroken to part ways. However, at the same time, your body feels utterly exhausted too.”
