Deal or No Deal Island Cast Takes on Intense Axe Throwing Challenge: Sneak Peek
The cast of Deal or No Deal Island season 2 is seriously committed to securing their immunity.
“I’ll have to throw an axe at my own face,” Dr. Will Kirby shares in Us Weekly’s exclusive preview of the episode airing on Tuesday, January 28. “I desperately need immunity. Without it, I’m going to be out pretty soon.”
In the featured video, contestants face a challenge from the banker in an axe-throwing contest. Each contestant’s photo is placed on a target, which includes two bullseyes at the center. For those who successfully hit either of the bullseyes, they’ll be safe from competing against the banker in the evening’s Deal or No Deal game. However, if they miss the target, they risk elimination.
Dr. Will asserts that the “pressure is on” as he prepares to throw his axe. When he tosses it, the axe strikes his face but lands just outside the bullseye.
“That’s a hit,” announces host Joe Manganiello, noting that while it wasn’t on the bullseye, another contestant may have the chance to throw again aiming for Dr. Will’s face directly.
Joe then invites Alexis Lete — known by her last name — to take her turn. Instead of competing for her own immunity, Lete opts to assist her ally Phillip Solomon.
“I believe Phil is a really likable guy,” the former volleyball player confides in a confessional. “He’s an athletic trainer and has the potential to excel in this competition.”
Lete throws her axe and lands just outside the bullseye. Next, Joe calls upon Parvati Shallow to throw. The former Survivor champion reveals that she’s aiming to secure her safety after being informed by castmate La Shell Wooten that she could be a target.
“La Shell mentioned to me that I’m perceived as the biggest threat,” Parvati says in a confessional. “So, it’s clear that I may be targeted by others. And I know I pose a threat.”
Parvati hurls her axe and strikes her portrait squarely in the center. Several fellow contestants cheer for the reality star’s impressive shot.
“There you go, easy!” Joe exclaims as David Genat gives Parvati an approving thumbs up.
Next up is Phillip, who mentions he plans to aim for Seychelle Cordero, who has found herself in a vulnerable position in the game so far.
“I think I’m going to target Seychelle, as my strategy is to go after the bottom two instead of the top two,” he explains.
Phillip strikes Seychelle’s picture, but misses the bullseye entirely. As Seychelle prepares for her turn, she announces to Joe that she is aiming for herself to avoid being in the bottom — which doesn’t sit well with Phillip.
“My axe is in there. She looks over at me as if to say she’s sorry,” Phillip shares. “And I’m looking at her like, ‘Hey, quick question. What the f—?’”
Seychelle tosses her axe lightly and manages to strike squarely in the middle of the target. The other players are astonished but quickly cheer her remarkable shot. Joe appears surprised and gives her a high five. Seychelle approaches Phillip to clarify her decision.
“I needed to aim to be safe, and I hope you get that,” Seychelle tells Phillip, who then gives her a side hug and replies, “Yeah, I understand.”
Deal or No Deal Island airs on NBC on Tuesdays at 9 p.m. and is available for streaming on Peacock the following day.
