EXCLUSIVE: Bobbi Brown Reveals Her Favorite Indulgences, from Her Must-Have Designer Handbag to Caviar on Everything

Cosmetics are synonymous with Bobbi Brown. As one of the world’s most renowned makeup artists, this beauty innovator has enhanced the looks of celebrities like Michelle Obama, Katie Holmes, and Glenn Close.

After selling her original line to Estée Lauder in 1995, the 67-year-old Bobbi launched her second beauty venture, Jones Road, in 2020. She resides in New Jersey with her husband, entrepreneur Steven Plofker, and they have three adult sons. Here, Bobbi shares the luxuries that brighten her day.

“Luxury is sitting in a lounge chair with a beach towel and a good memoir.”

My favorite indulgent meals include potato chips and caviar on everything. I prefer it black and crunchy.

My ultimate luxury indulgence is a Hermès cross-body bag, which I have in two sizes. It’s a timeless piece that complements nearly any outfit.

The simple luxury that brings me the greatest happiness is my pair of Comme Si socks, which I recently discovered. They are utterly indulgent.

My most recent luxury splurge was a mini black Evelyne Hermès cross-body bag I purchased while doing holiday shopping for my family.

My luxury beauty routine involves applying Augustinus Bader’s The Rich Cream for extra hydration, especially when my skin is dry; it feels like ultimate luxury, particularly when layered with the Jones Road Oil Stick. For makeup, I love using the Jones Road Beauty Gel Liner in brown or violet paired with our ultra-black mascara to make my eyes stand out.

The stores that best represent luxury to me are Hermès, Prada, and Brunello Cucinelli. They are all timeless classics, and everything you buy is chic and enduring.

The most luxurious piece of jewelry I own is my engagement ring, which initially featured a single round-cut diamond. For our 20th anniversary, my husband added two smaller round diamonds to either side.

My ultimate luxury travel destination is the Hotel du Cap-Eden-Roc in Antibes, South of France. It’s a remarkable experience that I would love to revisit.

The luxury item I always carry in my travel bag is a Louis Vuitton signature scarf, either in navy or blush, depending on my destination.

To enhance a cozy evening at home, I love to wear my oversized navy cashmere sweater from The Row paired with cotton James Perse sweatpants, and wrap myself in a James Perse cashmere blanket.

My definition of luxury is sitting in a lounge chair with a beach towel and a captivating memoir.
