Gleb Savchenko Responds to Ex-Wife Elena Samodanova’s Pregnancy Announcement
Dancing With the Stars professional Gleb Savchenko’s former spouse, Elena Samodanova, is set to welcome a baby with her new partner.
“Our love story continues with a new chapter ❤️,” Samodanova, 42, shared via Instagram on Thursday, August 28, posting maternity pictures with Vlad Kvartin.
In the photos, Samodanova displayed ultrasound images while Kvartin, 29, gently placed his hands on her baby bump.
“Pink or Blue, we can’t wait to meet you 🍼,” she wrote in her caption. “Are you team Boy 🧑🏼 or team Girl 👧🏼?”
This will mark Samodanova’s third child. She has two daughters, Olivia, 13, and Zlata, 7, with Savchenko, 41. The couple was married for 14 years before their split in 2020. Savchenko sent congratulatory messages to his ex-wife following her pregnancy reveal.
“Congratulations 🎉,” Savchenko commented on Instagram on Thursday. “I’m so happy for you guys ❤️❤️❤️❤️.”
Savchenko and Samodanova finalized their divorce in October 2021, agreeing to share joint physical and legal custody of their daughters. In 2023, Samodanova, Olivia, and Zlata moved to Hong Kong, while Savchenko remained in Los Angeles to compete on DWTS.
“It’s really, really hard to stay connected because of the time difference. But I try my best,” Savchenko exclusively told Us Weekly in July 2024. “I visited them during Christmas. I took them to Thailand for three weeks.”
He added, “I think my ex-wife [is] a great mom and she loves her girls. She does so much for them.”
Savchenko and Samodanova have also encouraged Olivia and Zlata as they pursue dancing, just like their parents.
“[Olivia] dances fully ballroom and competes,” he informed Us last year. “On August 2nd, I’m taking her to Taiwan for the World Championship. She has a partner in Hong Kong, and we’re all flying to Taiwan.”
Zlata, on the other hand, has developed a fascination with karate.
“She wants to be Rapunzel Ninja. She’s like, ‘I want to be Rapunzel Ninja.’ And I responded, ‘Well, you need to learn Kung Fu,’” Savchenko joked. “She was like, ‘No, first I need to master karate, get a black belt, and then I’ll study Kung Fu.’”
Following his divorce, Savchenko dated Elena Belle from 2021 until 2024. He later started a relationship with Brooks Nader after they were paired on DWTS season 33. The couple parted ways earlier this year, with Savchenko expressing to Us in an April statement that he wished Nader, 28, “the best” moving forward.
