How Many More Seasons of Ginny and Georgia Will Be Added to Netflix?

Ginny & Georgia continues to thrive—what’s the outlook for additional seasons on Netflix?

Scott Porter, who portrays Paul, shared his thoughts during an exclusive chat with Us Weekly at the Motion Picture & Television Fund NextGen Annual Summer Party. He stated, “Our creator, Sarah [Lampert], is a boundless source of stories. I’m confident we could develop this for quite some time.”

Porter, aged 45, emphasized that the show’s future rests on the audience’s response.

“Ultimately, it’s up to Netflix to decide if we move forward,” he elaborated. “But I want to take a moment to thank our viewers for supporting us through these first three seasons. We never anticipated the show would resonate this way—it’s all thanks to you. So, thank you!”

Ginny & Georgia, which debuted in 2021, tells the story of a young single mother who moves her family to Wellsbury, Massachusetts, to escape her past. The Netflix series features Brianne Howey, Antonia Gentry, Diesel La Torraca, Felix Mallard, Sara Waisglass, Raymond Ablack, and Porter.

Each new season has seen Ginny & Georgia grow its fanbase. The show released season 3 earlier this month and is already lined up for a fourth season, with potential for even more episodes ahead.

Porter has relished the opportunity to share both emotional and captivating stories.

“I have complete faith in [the writers]. They are crafting a narrative that’s unprecedented in my experience. The twists, the turns, the cliffhangers—everything works. For me, the word for this season as I step into Paul’s shoes is ‘intimidating.’ I felt a bit overwhelmed by some of the material they presented, unsure if I could keep up with our brilliant leads,” the Friday Night Lights alumnus told Us earlier this month regarding Howey and Gentry. “When asked to portray Paul’s emotional depth and inner struggles, it was indeed intimidating.”

He further remarked: “We trust each other throughout the entire process. Our crew is outstanding. So when we’re challenged to push our limits, we know we have a supportive environment, which means everything.”

The actor is optimistic about Paul’s journey in season 4, where his character will work on his resilience.

“There are still aspects of Paul we don’t fully understand yet. I’d love to see his resilience and how he rebounds in season 4. It would be great to witness the return of the old Paul,” Porter concluded. “We know how capable he is at his job—he was elected mayor long before Georgia came into his life. I’m eager to see his fight, charm, and wit make a comeback in season 4.”
